Living in Muiather

Hello!

I'm considering accepting a job position in the Muiather area of Doha. Can someone please shed some light on the expat community living in this area? Is it considered a good quality neighbourhood? I noticed it is 17km from the Doha port. What kind of transportation options are available? What is the monthly cost to have a driver? How much would it cost one way to the Doha port area?

Thanks so much!

The statement made by Wild Turkey is as a wild as the first part of his name. Muaither has a very large expatriate community with few areas which are compounds. Majority of the expats are middle class or low income workers. Two of the streets Sharah Tejari and Sharah Ibn Dhoom are busy commercial areas. The area currently has four supermarkets and another one is in the construction stage. There are several Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan restaurants present.. Karwa bus service nos. 57, 31, 34, 41 and 43 pass through Muaither.

Hello! I was using the Doha port as a point of reference to downtown Doha. Not too familiar with the city at all, as I have never visited.

Thanks for the info!
