Dear QL friends,

Someone in QL might have very good experience with the above three places..Could you please advice if i want to earn more and to have safety family life , which among the three are best?

i have got an offer from ajman and i am getting confused of taking decision , as abudhabi & dubai are heard as top emirates in UAE.

Or do i need to wait for an offer from Qatar ?

Ajman:

Cost of living is extremely cheap. You could even get a villa while ago for AED 10,000 per year. Just so you know, you could buy property for the price you paid rentals in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Ajman lacks infrastructure. What this means is that while you may have a place to live you may not have electricity and water. Electricity, you would have to install your own generator (these are bought off the shelf in Sharjah) and fuel it up regularly. Water is really a hassle as Ajman does not upgrade its infrastructure.

Yet on the brighter side, drinks are cheaper than every other emirate. Recall the place use to be called 'Hole in the wall'

Security: do not expect to be as secure as you are in Qatar or Abu Dhabi. Low income earners live in Ajman while working in Dubai and Sharjah as they can afford to have better living conditions that they would not be able to afford in dubai and sharjah. But it is not all that insecure if you keep minding your own business.

Schools: you'd end up driving your children to Sharjah or Dubai. Not too far, about 15-25 kms. Yet crossing sharjah to get to dubai can be a real nightmare between 7-10 am and 5:30-7:30pm.

Abu-Dhabi:

Really secure. Housing is costlier (1.25 to 1.5 times costlier than dubai). Like most capital cities in the GCC, Abu Dhabi has great infrastructure. People do tend to prefer staying in Dubai and traveling to and from Abu Dhabi daily. But that involves a risk of driving on a road that's infested with crazed drivers that drive like morons in their SUV's and convertibles. Yet Westerners prefer to stay at Jebel Ali / Dubai Marina and place their children in Dubai schools.

just make sure that the package you get covers all living expenses. Life in UAE is so different from Qatar (where all expenses are stated upfront). Be ready to be hit by penalties for the most trivial of violations, commissions on housing, security deposits, indirect taxes in the form of house tax (dubai and sharjah).

Oh and keep a watch for the con-men. If a deal is too exciting to be true, its fake.

I don't like these sarcastic replies. Anyway, that place is ok where you see yourself fit.

surely life in the UAE is better than here. Ajman is near Sharjah and Dubai so its almost the same plus cost of living is lower.

Its not boring in UAE.
