At last, something seems to be working !

I have been struggling with my weight ever since the birth of my first child(She is 13!) followed by postpartum hypothyroidism, undetected for four years.

Tried whatever I could. A little bit of yoga, gym, eating less food, etc.

I tried Xenical, but found that it is good only for those who eat fatty food, which I rarely do.One month of expensive pills and not even 100 grams gone.. :-(

Just thought of eating some chicken, fish, egg whites, etc with a lot of vegetables as the main course.

For the past four days, I have been eating it.And already the tummy feels lighter and around 1 kilo lesser(the truth is 2 kilos plus:-)...!

You cannot really say it is due to loss of water because I am not taking any extra water and the veggies are dry too.I guess it is just that the liver is pushing out a lot what was stored there. I always had a fatty liver and huge tummy.

I am not feeling deprived. They call this low carb, Atkins, etc.I dont want to name it anything...but just want some result.

I feel my liver has less work to do. I feel more fresh and alive..Fingers crossed, I intend to go on till June/ July, if God allows and reach my target of around 30 kilos weight loss. You dont mind taking pains for doing something, if it is worth the effort..

If any one has had the experience of doing it, please post some tips to help..

Please dont discourage me..Because it has been a very hard life and it still is...

Bless me, friends....

Cheer up Elegance, the best way for you to look and feel good is to threaten your husband into giving you compliments or no sex or food for a month :P

Tinker you have baby fat...you should lose that when you reach 21 and are of legal drinking age!

Your body is what you make of it. You just need to have the determination to do it. The body is just a sack of meat with muscle, exercise helps burn the fats, you first need to determine WHAT is it that makes you a fatty :P I suggest stop experimenting and consult a proper doctor.

Yes FathimaH, Even I believe in a lifestyle modification rather than depriving myself of anything I crave..

Yaaaaaaaaaay! That's fab...You may want to further check out this site if you intend on doing low carb:

http://atkins.com/Homepage.aspx

Personally I felt too deprived when doing low carb 24/7. Rather I advocate the "no carbs after 5pm" diet..which is great! I lost loads of weight doing it three years back, and still stick to it since its more like a lifestyle change than a mere diet.

Another tip is make 2/3 days a week "detox day" ie eat only veges and fruits..no grains,no proteins, no dairy, etc. Stick to more fruits in the day and more vege soups at night.

These are of course just suggestions..Wish you all the best! Barakhallah feeki =)

Here are some exercises which you could do while watching TV which are really effective.

Try these 1 mile or 2 mile workouts:
