KARWA-TAXI Problem???

One Friday morning I was going to Al Sadd. I checked the meter but it was purposely covered with tape. Halfway, the bill was running 15QR. I was surprised because it should not be more than 15QR so I insist to remove the tape. Now the fights begun because he told me his meter is broken and I have to pay him 500 QR if I damaged more the meter. Upon reaching my destination, I paid him 15QR only, although he was very angry with me, yet I challenged him to call the police or Karwa officers to complain or to settle the issue. Soon after, I walked fast and leave him very angry but I was very happy.

As the Karwa drivers mentioned about the unfair Company Rules and Regulations and that,s the reason why the taxi drivers are cheating.

Drivers wants you to complain in Karwa's Management so that they can go home to their homeland.

So sad nowadays. Orange taxi are so far way better than today's transport.

Company's poor way of labor management will reflect the quality of service.

Even for me, the taxi from city center had 2 as its meter .... when i asked, he said its coz we were traveling after 10 pm .....

Karwa and their drivers.. Some of this drivers think they own the Car and the company too. The way they talk to the passengers and their rudeness stands out more then the trip you do with them. One is left wondering whether this people have ever been sent for any training on how to deal with the passengers travelling with them

yes some of them are cheaters.... i hope Karwa Co. should take action regarding this matter.....

0 = Outside Doha, 1 = Inside Doha, What's about 2? what's meaning, I went to City Center last 2 weeks and it's have Taxi there but not Karwa. they put 2, what's meaning of number 2? I was wonder because a meter is getting fast.

we also experience the same thing. as soon as you noticed it, they would act as if they don't know anything.

Me. my husband and my friend went to lulu and decided to eat at habeeb somewhere in matar qadeem. We rode a karwa and asked him to turn on the meter, He replied that the taxi is for rental and he asked for a 15 riyals instead, We find it so expensive and asked why?? If you are for rental thus this gave you the authority to turn off the meter and asked the passenger as much as you can?? so we decided to go down and complain it to the dispatcher only to find out that their is also one indian having the same problem us ours and complained also to the dispatcher whi doesnt do anything... and another taxi driver came and the same story He does not any passenger to matar qadeem because they find it too near and does not have any profit at all...

What kind of Taxi driver is this???? Thus Karwa allow this kind of system????

Another thing is the fare for bus is 10 riyals if you do not have any card....

i had the same situation also. so much as possible i ride the bus or just walk :)

I remember seeing the 0 and 1 part on a leaflet in one of the taxi's, didn't pay much notice to it. Never realized, they could be misusing it and never gave attention to it.

How do you know what "0" and "1" means?... Is it written somewhere?

Its because the company is so vague on that rule...

In continuation to the intiators compalint... the Karwa people are ruthless drivers, they are ill mannered and uncivilized..specially the african and the indian ones.. they just cant be polite or hold a straight face...it seems as if someone is begging them of their wealth...uncouth ridiculous service!!!!!!!!!!

thats why private taxi drivers are in great demand here.

I had a guest who had big problems with a taxi going to my house which is easy to find. I rang the next day to complain. customer service???? The guy wouldn't give me a number/name and said I would get a call back.

He never did and really who do we complain to????

Out of 4 sets of guests recently 3 had Taxi problems :(

yesterday i showered on the rain, because when I saw a Taxi and I am about to hop in, he told me he doesnt like to go on my place because of traffic.

just today i go to Georgetown and the bill of taxi was QR26, I think thats too much, but I am not aware of rate 1 and 0.

NO USE FOR COMPLAINT AGAINST THE DRIVERS BCOZ THEY DONT LOOSE ANYTHING ITS GOVERNMENT PROPERTY..............

you should do complaint against karwa in case of any fraud or mishap...

Yes...it's TRUE...Orange Taxi is Way More Better than the KARWA TAXI... Even most of them are Pakistani and Afganistan, they are more honest for there for...Not like in Karwa TAXI. CHEATERS....i know not all KARWA TAXI DRIVER...but for me, 90% Cheater and only 10% Are honest...

we cant trust here on private taxi's too though there are many, & they even charge more than karwa's... sometime we avail them coz of no choice... its safe and reliable to arrange a private taxi on monthly basis for pick n drop service... save ur money and time... :)

Taxi is basically a problem here. Instead of promoting public transport, its getting more disappointing now ..

nothing's new dear... a lot of people have been fighting with them big time.. and if you complain them in their call center...the operator will even justify what the drivers are doing...The ORANGE taxis are way better than the current rolling cheaters...although not all of them are cheaters...some of them still upholds the dignity of being human on treating people with respect and equality... Kudos to them... most of these "cheaters" are complaining of not so fair treatment from their company but that's not enough reason to cheat....i dont think this will be resolved the soonest because this has been goin on for the longest time....
