I will be working in Qatar soon as cleaner...
is it possible that i can also look for part time job,,
so that i can sustain my family more here in philippines,,,
How are these low salary rates calculated for these workers? Wages in South Asia have risen in the pass few years so a salary of QR1000 here is less than what they might make at home for the same job. Overtime rarely is ever given to the worker although the company may charge an overtime fee to its clients.
No matter how much hardship you're having at the moment try your best to look for another higher paying job. You seem educated (your english is much better than our super here in our company). Part time is possible but with great risk- legally and your personal safety. Shed any idea about this place being a greener pasture. You will be sacrificing a lot for yourself. Just so you would be informed.
The law prohibits you from working with others except to your sponsor only. Not unless you have an NOC (No Objection Certificate) which is the sole discretion of the employer and likely you will not get.
I agree with bhertbautista590. 1000 riyals is peanuts here. And 250 riyals food allowance is barely enough to survived. You have to feed your self pandesal and khubooz most of the time. Food is too expensive. Kabayan think twice if you're getting 10,000 pesos there don't come. Not unless you're jobless. Working time exceed 8 hours and no overtime. Fixed salary is the norms here.
check first your contract if there will be dispute if you work for another employer specially if the other employer is a competition to your current employer. Just my 2 cents!
Unfortunately, its classified as manual laborer or unskilled workers here. And what she'll be getting is higher than her Nepali or Sri Lankan counterparts.
Example: Our office hired a teaboy plus 2x a week cleaning. The monthly bill is QAR2200, but the teaboy gets 800 riyals, plus accommodation.
I had a team of Nepali cleaners and they only get 500riyals + 200 food allowance. They have free accommodation.
1000 qr is way too low here, try to find some other job,, at least 2500 qr plus accomodation and transpo so you can save more, no need for part time job,
make sure you get overtime pay in excess of 8 hours.
Regarding about working part time, it's not allowed unless you have NO OBJECTION LETTER from your employer/sponsor that you could work part time. So if you get caught and/or questioned by the authorities, you're protected.
Better try to settle in first and see if its possible with your work shift.

yah,,thank u,,,offer was 1000 riyals..plus 250 food allowance,,and free accommodation and transpo...
its 8hrs work....
thank u for reply...
i really just curious if its legal having a part time job there..coz it will also help a lot,,,:)
you will be working as a cleaner?
FYI: here in Qatar, typically a cleaner works 8-10 hours a day, with FRIDAY as day-off.
The company provides you with accommodation but you have to buy your own food. So, if your salary is 800riyals...that won't be enough.
I hope you know what you're getting into.
