Interview questions likely to be asked for "Data Analyst" role?
By Sleepy Beauty •
Dear All,
I have a interview next week for a "Data Analyst" role with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and I was wondering what types of questions the interviewers may ask me.
What type of questions am I likely to face when I attend my interview next week?
Thank you for reading what I've had to say. Look forward to hearing responses.
Caution , Even if you feel sleepy still answer beautifully to pass this interview
A Data Analyst is expected to work with data sets - so your interview questions on a technical level would be related to Excel sheets.
As a data Analyst on a basic level you will need to navigate through an excel sheet and be familiar with functions such as sum, avg, mode etc.
In most organisations you will also be required to be familiar with the use of Pivot tables, Hlookup, Vlookup. These allow you to co-relate different data sets.
Things like trim, and, nested if's and nested or's help in extracting the right information from large sheets.
You can easily find tutorials on these online. There are plenty of excel videos. If you wait for a few hours I can dig up some good websites from my pile of bookmarks.
Questions on a non technical level will relate to your proficiency in creating reports and general management level communication skills. A data analyst's main role is to get the right data to the team so that they can act on it.
Since its HMC, google up for what data is critical in the healthcare industry.
