Injured kitten found - Needs medical help

Hello,

Picked up a fuzzy little guest yesterday evening when I was out with my son at a local play ground. We had seen this kitten on previous visits, except this time around I noticed something horribly wrong.

Both her (its a she) eyes were closed shut, with what seemed like dried blood on her nose(not a whole lot but it was there). From the looks of it,the right eye seem is severely damaged. The left eye also seems to be hurt but at least the kitty seems to open it a bit from time-to-time.I fear both her eyes are damaged and its not just a case of a severe infection of some kind. The kitty herself seems a bit ...lethargic/subdued.I bought her back home but havent heard her meow much. She does seem to like the safety of her brand new home aka the pet carrier for now.Been careful not to over feed it.

Question is,what are my options?
Will QAWS take it in and have it examined by a vet?Do any of the vets assist with treating rescued strays?
Please advise guys.Thanks!

**Update** Spoke with someone at QAWS,who suggested that I have the kitten checked out at the Govt Animal Clinic. Will do that later today and post a followup

who suggested I first have it examined by a vet. They are concerned that (a) if its a eye infection, they don't want to take it in and have it spread to others (b)if its blind,th other kittens/cats might rough it up.

I hope once they know the status, QAWS will be kind enough to take it in.

I'm hoping its not contagious or completely blind.Anyone know's the phone number for the Govt Animal Hosp !Thx for all your feed back so far guys.

Don't forget that the government clinic closes at 12 because of Ramadan.
