Indian Adoption from Qatar

Hi everyone,

We are a childless couple considering adoption from India. We are Indians staying in Qatar.

With our initial research we found that any non-residential Indian willing to adopt a child from India, should go through the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) by contacting Authorized Foreign Adoption Agency. As Qatar is not registered in CARA, we have been informed to get in touch with the Indian High Commission or Embassy here.

Please can anyone let me know if the Indian Embassy in Qatar entertains such matters and if yes, which department do we have to contact ?

Many Thanks "natsbond" for providing a clear picture. I am well aware of the fact that an NRI cannot adopt just by going to India during a vacation. Please could you let me know if the UAE CARA is accepting requests from Indians residing in Qatar? Have they accepted your application?

Dear Friend,

its no use going to the indian embassy over here they dont entertain you any how and neither can you adopt from India since you are NRI. You have to get yourself registered with teh Cara agent in dubai Mrs. Omana Menon. In india if you try to adopt they will not entertain you since there is no homestudy possible to be done since you do not reside there.

I am sailing in the same boat as you

i have tried visiting the indian embassy here but they cant do anything if you still want give a try
