Importing pets from India

I'm trying to bring my pet dog from India (Bangalore). But finding out how is such a hassle. Tried contacting a lot of people in India & Qatar - Emirates, Qatar Airways, Bangalore Airport, Doha International Airport. But no one seems to know the exact formalities of exporting a pet form Bangalore. After hours of conversation with the official at Emirates (they even forgot its an international call) and discussing the options, she finally said Emirates don't allow pet exports as an accompanied baggage.
Has anyone done this before? I know a lot of Europeans are bringing their pets into Qatar. But Indian rules are very different and worse - no one knows what is needed.
It would be great if someone could please tell me what are the formalities and the papers needed (in detail) to bring him to Qatar. Qatar Vet Center promised they can take care of all the formalities once he reaches Qatar - ie. import permit and all that. My pup is 7 months old and up-to-date with all his vaccinations and rabies shots, microchipped as well.

Just help the poor in India, rather than talking about pets

Yes, India is always India! Such a beautiful country, but the govt has ruined it to extreme! I'm an Indian but I feel really ashamed to say I'm an Indian when I see how irresponsible the govt is!

I could have always adopted one here in Qatar. But I can't leave my beloved dog in India to die there. I HAVE to get him here and safe!

In my opinion I feel its better to adopt a puppy here in Doha rather than importing one from India. India will always be India :D

Will need a long quarantine for that dog before he is allowed in

I enquired about that. They don't know much about the formalities in India. Said I'll have to arrange everything. They won't be able to help. I also checked with vets in India. They said they don't know about the exit formalities. Its totally upto the airlines/airport quarantine's discretion. They dont have an available contact number. Its getting so frustrating. This always happens whenever we need to get something done from India. Officials are so ignorant and irresponsible. I wonder people at the souq manage to import so many dogs from India!

But they might be able to tell you what you need done to able to bring your pet into Qatar.

Besides, do the vets in india not know these things?

Thanks! But yes! I did check with QAWS and Qatar Vet Center. They can't do anything from India. They can only take care of the procedures here in Qatar, which is not a problem.
