Hi all,

I need your help and opinions on a situation regarding Al-Fardan Land Rover service Center. With out further dew here is my situation: I get an sms regarding my service which is due March 14th for a 2012 Range rover Evoque which was the 15,000 Km service "keep in mind it's at ~7,600 Km". I go ahead and set the appointment via a phone call and they give me an appointment a month later at April 14th, which is clearly unacceptable for such a "high-end dealership". Anyway I let it slide just for the fact that they have a huge amount of customer even though I asked the lady on the phone if there is any possible way to get it anytime sooner and she reply no BUT you can leave it at our service center at anytime or day but you will not have the priority since it's not your appointment. Taking that into account I wait until the appointment and I send the car there to get the service done. They told me that the car passed the time period set for it to be serviced and due to that your warranty and service pack is voided. keep in mind that they are the ones who gave me the appointment and didn't even mention such a thing on the phone when I booked the appointment. The service manger told me that you have signed on that in the contract when you bought the car and it's completely your fault, and that this is given to them via Land Rover them self, and next time you buy a car you have to read in between the lines of the contract "how funny". Regardless to how rude they treated me, I go ahead and go through the international terms and conditions for Land Rover service Pack and it clearly said in term number 4 that the service is based on the mileage, and no where in it mentions anything about a time limitation. Oh and they said they will try to help me, but they wont promise me anything hahahaha. What do you people thing about this? I just want to see your thought before I contact Land Rover International and take it to legal matters, because even if they resolve my issue. they will keep doing the same thing to other customers and that is completely unacceptable.

this is a scam alert about al-fardan contract give to us. how it's a scam you say will here we go: under customer liabilities it says that there is a 1 month time limit to service your vehicle or 1,500 km from the given mileage limit. This is a scam handed to us in broad light, since the Land rover terms and conditions in their official international website states under term #4 that the vehicle service is controlled by the mileage stated in the service book. On top of that the vehicle that for example passes the 15,000 km mark has to be serviced anyway so you take it to the service center regardless to whether you are on the time limit or not. BUT if the vehicle didn't get to the 15,000 km mark and you got to the time limit they set, it means they don't have to change X or Y on the vehicle which save this money. this just shows you how much they are trying to use us, and how much they are trying to suck every penny from us. more over my vehicle had a brake system recall that they didn't even bother calling me for and they did it in this service. this is just taking it to the next level of customer abuse. I will do everything in my power to put the word out and show everybody this scam of a company they call them self high-end hahaha....

Thanks to all that replied. I just filed a complain at Land Rover middle east and Guess what they said hahahahaha.... They were like "we will sort out the warranty situation and contact Al-Fardan office about the unethical way they treated you, but we have no control over the service pack given by the dealership "WTF!!!! so the service manger actually lied about the service pack being control via Land Rover". so they requested the VIN and the owner's full name, and I'm just waiting for Al-Fardans reply to this "which from what I see now are lies upon lies. I'll keep you all updated on this, because this is not the first time I have this experience with them. They gave me a 2 week appointment for the first service for my ducati monster 696, and on the second one they lost my key and called me later to tell me to come over and check if the key was mine, on top of that they screwed my rear brake which I brought it there for in the first place "they over filled the system with brake fluid which created bake pressure in the system which then "thank god I'm a mechanic" had to take the master cylinder apart redo the seals and re-bleed the system again. this is just taking it to the other level with a customer, and I'll make them pay for it for sure.

Just one more "horror" story about Al Fardan Automobiles Service. They are legion.

My own case: I had an X-type Jaguar. Made the mistake of taking up to Salwa for a regular service. An initial indication of QR3,000 ballooned to over QR25,000 -- and when I got it back it simply didn't work (it did when I gave it to them). The painful (and very expensive) experience confirmed my decision to sell it not because I didn't like the vehicle but because of the ineptitude of Al Fardan.

Now, I still get emails and nice ladies calling to let me know its time for a service or my car is ready for collection -- TWO YEARS AFTER I SOLD IT!

The calls I most enjoy are customer service follow-up calls to ask if I was happy with the service, because at that point I really unload on the poor unfortunate on the other end. Its not their fault they are only doing a "pro-forma" computer generated activity with little (or probably no) link to reality.

Fortunately they are obviously accustomed to and well trained in listening quietly while the customer explains for the umpteenth time that he doesn't have a Jag, why sold it two years earlier, and would they please remove him from the mailing/call list.

Haven't heard from them for the last few weeks -- but the next round of service will surely be coming up.....

I don't know about Qatar, but most car manufactory's world widemention,

“service to be done, before DATE every 6 months etc OR Mileage / Kilometer every 10,000 KM etc (whichever comes first) “

One month appointment time for car like land rover hardly seen on Doha roads , For toyota , honda mitsubishi it is understood , Any ways my suggestion will be directly complaint to Land rover International , it will be time waste to complaint in any GCC office , As the grade and behavior of staff will be same i guess ,

Manufacturer warranty is given by the manufacturer and the dealer is only responsible for administration, the dealer does not make decisions on behalf of the manufacturer. There is far to much rubbish talked here by dealers regarding warranty. Send an official complaint to the manufacturers office in Dubai who control the region, and if you get no satisfaction there, send a copy of your complaint to Land Rover headquarters. I repeat the manufacturer gives and decides on warranty and not the dealer.
