Horrible lack of service at Al Fardan BMW
Hi,
On 25/08, now almost 3 months ago, I delivered my car to Al Fardan in the industrial area as there was a problem with the alignment (particularly the camber).
Mid September we were told the car was fixed. I went to pick it up and paid the bill of QAR 2000 in deductible for the insurance. However while driving home it was already clear the car was not driving well. I asked them to send me the measurement report. From the measurement report it was clear that car was not repaired at all. For example the camber was about 4 times out of tolerance which not only means the tyres would wear very quickly, but also that the car is or would become very rapidly unsafe to drive. I was in shock that a company like Al Fardan would dare or risk sending their customers on the road like that.
I returned the car and did not receive an apology but they did take the car back in their bodyshop.
It took until 2/11 for them to contact us again to say that the car was fixed. This time I asked them first to send the measurement report. To my big surprise, once again the measurement report clearly showed the car was not fixed at all.
To me it is incomprehensible that a company like Al Fardan would even dare to not once, but twice knowingly return an unrepaired and unsafe car to its customers.
I did not accept the car of course, and last week they send me another report claiming that this time the car is repaired. This measurement report indeed shows all measurements are within the tolerances. However as they already twice knowingly tried to give me back un unrepaired car, I am in real doubt that the report they provideed me with this time is genuine. On top of that they now want extra money from me as I need to pay 40% of the material cost they made when they repaired the car after I returned it the first time. Not only was I never told about this upfront, I already paid the full agreed amount when the car should have been repaired in Mid September.
Now, it is already almost a week where they are "talking to their manager" whether or not they will return the car to me without making me pay even more money for putting me through this horrible experience.
I am currently contemplating what best to do.
My advice to you is to document your experience in details, mention the dates and the people you were talking to and email the whole story to BMW HQ and their regional office in Dubai.
Unfortunately, this is a normal behaviour by dealers in Qatar. They do not care about customer safety or customer satisfaction.
They only care if they receive a call from BMW.
Good luck, ... please let us know if things change after contacting BMW.

Expect Amazing!
If they are talking to the manager, you should also address this matter to the manager and send a note to the BMW HQ or their regional office.
I heard from few people Al Fardan BMW service isnt good.
Although once I have taken my BMW to the service centre beside Landmark for small body repaire ( little scratch), and was pretty much happy with thier service. Staff was attentive, it took them only 1 working day to complete the job. They offered me a free ride from the service sentre to my office, when I left my car at service in the morning. All seemed to be in place.
shoot a mail to BMW HQ...
yes indeed
