Help me ""Computer Geeks and nerds"" Urgent!!
I turned off my office note book with as normal. In the evening I tried to switch on the computer and it is showing the message...
"Internal HDD HARD error !" What this suppose to mean? is my hard disk crashed or motherboard error.
I have tried rebooting the machine several time, tried with bootable CD without any success.
The question is, my hard disk is gone or is it motherboard problem.
Cannot afford to loose all my office data as I have not backed up any data in last 4 months.
Help and suggestions urgently required........
Thanks all for the help.
I was lucky as I pulled my hard disk and tried on external casing and it was working. Saved my data and put the disk back in computer and viola........
It is back in action. I think somehow the hard disk connection got loose and computer was not detecting it al all.
Such a relief....................
thx april but I will take it to professionals as there is too much to loose. Was trying to get the info form someone who has been through this and got good end result.
At least I got razin's number who provide data recovery services.
The hardest challenge is to be yourself in a world where everyone is trying to make you be somebody else.
FROM THE ERROR IT SELF IT IS A HARD DISK PROBLEM. THERE IS A POSSIBILTY THAT YOUR HARD DISK CRASHED, DID YOU DROP YOUR LAPTOP?
REMOVE THE HARDDISK FROM YOUR LAPTOP AND CONNECT TO A USB HARD DISK CONNECTOR AND TRY TO BACKUP YOUR DATA.FROM THIS YOU CAN CHECK IF YOUR HARDDISK IS STILL WORKING.
GOODLUCK!!!!

The problem is, being in oilfields service company, I sometimes get SOS calls at or after midnight from rig sites. Loss of all the data means going to office at really odd hours and dig out details/info from hard copies.
...on the other thread, which is much more 'important' to save than this...

I also have problems like that here in my place and my notebook is still alive for nearly a year without a problem and yet gets an exposure to the heat on the rooftop the whole day...WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS!!! (other than trojans, I mean)

Dude ....i can understand how desperate u r....anyways that is a really nice idea...but thr mite b variation in power supply for both devices....if it goes wrong it mite get those circutes fried....thn ur gonna lose all ur data....better leave it 2 the professionals..
...you yourself already gave the answer to your problem. "Internal HDD Hard Error". So why do you think it's still a motherboard problem? That doesn't mean that you still can't recover your file. You have to open it to another computer as a backup file to see if it 'reads' properly. It's the same problem and setup as having a desktop computer maintenance.
Get it now?

Anyways, I will check will Dell on Saturday and then its my good or bad.
manyana, there is a thing called experience and when in places like Qatar, those who might have gone through same sh*t can guide and share.
One more thing is called educating yourself and google is best way to do it IMO.
I think this guy is trying to play you lot and waste ur time.....he seems to know more than he is letting on....dont you think??????
Dude if you found all that from google why ask pple in the first place....lol
Move!

Not looking good after doing some search on Google.
(ANS) If you have received an error message saying "internal HDD hard error" then this tends to strongly suggest that your hard disk drive is in the process of going to fail. Hard drives usually last many thousands of hours if given good conditions such as constant temperature range and that the disk drive isn't worked too death or over used.
However, HDD do fail eventually both at a surface level i.e. some tracks or sectors or segments fail magnetically. Drives can also fail electronically too.
Its not so much IF a drive will fail more when a drive will fail, its a likely event not an unlikely event. This is why ALL good computer systems in business have built in fault or failure tolerant systems so drives can be hot swapped when they fail without bringing down an entire server or cluster of servers.
**You could (can) run software diagnostics over the disk drive if it hasn't actually gone yet?
**YES! if the HDD has failed then its quite appropriate that you would see a BSD (blue screen of death), as a disk failure would corrupt or damage system files or drivers that are critical to windows. Thus giving you a stop error or critical error of the operating system.
**My guess is that this drive has failed which means you need a brand new HDD and will need to re-install literally everything from windows upwards. You will have lost ALL your data & personal files if you didn't make backups?
No dear vegas, I am not expert but do possess a little knowledge which can be dangerous....
Your just playing us...

I am not giving any FCUK about the computer and yes it might be too late but lets see. Still hoping for the best here.
Is back up your data...
And buy a new computer when it fails...
You didn't back up so you screwed...
A new computer is cheaper than repair...
Your data is priceless...
Wake up...

thanks Razi, I will take it Dell and if they cannot do anything will sure contact you.
BTW, what is the success rate in these kinda situations?
I would rather have it motherboard than hard disk.
Will take it to Dell shop on Saturday and than see.
Yes I do have combined 700GB+ portable hard drives but for whatever reason did not transfer data in last four months.
i mite b able 2 help u out... call me in 5441930.... my office is opposite of airport(BONUS TRADING is the name of the company)....v do data recovery....
...coz if it is, you won't be reading the 'HDD HARD error' from the start...

You will have to take the hard drive out...
And take it to a disk recovery person...
Not sur ewhere they are here...
But maybe someone post...
If you run your recover cd you will lose all your data...
Ever heard of a USB drive to back up your data???
Good luck...
