Getting Medical Appt
Once you have applied for the health card and you need medical care how do you get seen at the clinic? I am completely in the dark on the procedure but must get in to see a doctor for a non emergency problem. I do not want to go to the emergency department so how can I go about getting seen?
Are the primary care clinics on a walk in basis or do I need to call and make an appointment?
I was told that my primary clinic was somewhere near sports round about, does anyone have a clue as to where the clinic actually is located?
Which is the best dental clinic here in Doha?!! I have broken my tooth and I need a very good recommendation. Need to fix it ASAP
Thanks

minor problems you can go to the healthcentre.just go there open your file after you show them the receipt and see the doctor.
emergencies are best handled at hamad.
you can take the receipt and go to the healthcentre or hamad for any treatment.
you could also try al rafa clinic (mainly indian doctors, ent, derma, gyn are very good there)near jaidah flyover,al shefa clinic at muntaza signal for occassional consultations.rafa charges 50for consultation, shefa charges 100.doha clinic hospital is also good.

happy heart
drive safe because someone is waiting for you at home
My husband has been to the emergency dept. at Hamad several times for non-emergency situations afterhours. It hasn't taken as long as you might think, he's received good care and it's unbelievably cheap. I think if you take your passport and the receipt showing you have applied for you medical card, they will see you at your primary place or just your passport at Hamad. I have no idea where the one is by SR but they usually have a green octagon sign above them. As for appts., the one by me near the zoo is show up and shove your way to the window to get a number. If you want a more pleasant experience and don't mind paying 200 QR a visit just go to Al Ahli Hospital. It's very nice. I take my kids/had a baby there and I'm sure they have a general practitioner.
