I'm looking to buy a German Shepherd pup and can't find any in Doha. Does anyone know where I can import one from or does anyone have any German shepherd pups for sale?

Don't direct me to QAWS because they never have german shepherd pups.

I appreciate the help i can get. Thanks

Hi there.

I don't suppose you are still looking for a German Shepherd? I recently had a baby and are forced to find a new home for our 2 year old male German Shepherd named Rocky. He is a beautiful dog and very well trained, a perfect guard dog, but unsuitable to have around children.

Please contact me if you are interested. We would love to find a nice home for him.

Thanks

Very informative posts, I'd like to add that German Shepards display serious fidelity to their caretakers, they take a bit of time to trust and don't befriend strangers easily, too smat and love kids when they get used to them.

We don't bathe ours daily, we only spray and brush her daily or every other day. Small ones don't eat all that much, but as they grow older (5 months and above) they eat larger meals.

I hope you'd keep us posted.

Salam

And make sure to educate yourself about the breed. Unfortunately, many new "owners" are stupider than the dogs they acquire and are soon overwhelmed. If you don't have experience with dogs or this particular breed, you may find you've taken on more than you can handle. GSs are a very smart dog, a very loyal dog, but YOU need to be trained properly before you take one on.

They have what is called a double coat which means twice as much hair shedding and a lot of good grooming. They do not like the heat here so will require AC in the summer months.

Get into an obedience class with a good licensed dog trainer, it will make both your lives a lot easier and enjoyable. Get it spayed or neutered as soon as your vet recommends.

If you're getting this type of dog because you think it makes you look tough, think again. GSs are shepherds, their instinct is to look after their charges (be they cows, sheep, or you) not to fight.

check with the local vet's offices. They usually have dogs that people abandon or pups that are posted for sale. I highly recommend that once you get a dog, GET IT NEUTERED!!! The dog population here in Doha is alarmingly high already. Please don't add to an already bad problem.

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the main difference between a dog and man.

Please buy puppies at your own risk we suggest you to be careful as there are many online scammers use a escrow service when you buy and sell, and above all please be careful. Never wire funds via Western Union, MoneyGram or any other wire service -- anyone who asks you to do so is a scammer.

Have you checked on Q Mart or Mega Mart notice boards. Sometimes there are pets for sale on them.

I will hoist that up the flag pole and see who salutes it!!
