Hey Guys... Actually there's a friend of mine.. he thinks he's contaminated with Aids virus... he'z like some1 actually poked a needle to him and now he thinks he's contaminated altough no blood came out... I did explain him that it only spreads through blood n all. but he's too worried. He wants to go for a medical check up.. but he fears if he's tested positive they will deport him, and he's the sole breadwinner for his family... so does any1 actually know wher he could have a check up but without the immigration(cops n doctors) ppl are inolved or somethin.
Please advice..

None of the Gulf countries will accept anyone witthe AIDS virus even in Dubai they will not let you leave the clinic until the police come and you will be scooted of to the airport and out of the oountry.

In Europe you are regiseterd if you have AIDS but as said no one will hassle you ther because of it.

It may be nothing at all might just have been a pin.

If he is here in Qatar he will have been tested for AIDS when going through the medical and police.

Maybe he was a bit too high and probably mistook an insect bite or something for pin-poke.

I've forwarded this node to him so that he can actually read this.. he was poked by a person at a bar, coz the guy acc to him seemed to be a gay n was disturbing him, so he was like man **** off and he indulged in some sort of a quarrel.. and the next few minutes he knows that he was poked by him, it seems funny... although the guy dint say anything like AIDS or somethin.. but its just that he cant stop thinking about it.. I believe he's in some sort of a trauma or somethin...

I personally did explain him that, therez no chance.. coz he dint even see blood n all.. n I told him that AIDS does not spread from skin to skin.. but now you know.. how he feels.. I believe these comments will help him calm down a bit!

Well, was the needle in someone who was HIV +?? Because if it wasn't then your friend has nothing to worry about.

It takes anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months for the virus to show up in a test.

IN the future, if anyone thinks they have been exposed to the virus, GET TO THE HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY. There are drugs that can be given to block HIV from infecting if taken within about 4 hours of possible infection.

And needles are a very risky was to get HIV, and one of the most common ways- this is why drug users high such high rates of HIV. It's from sharing needles.

Why in the world was your friend stabbed by a needle and not call the cops or go right to the hospital???

Hey Imz Kaisa hai bhai.. Long time no see. I hope all is well..

I will give you one good news. AIDS Virus cannot live outside human body for more than 3 mins. So your friend can consider 2 possibilities.. was it just the needle or did he feel injected.. Like you mentiond no blood, i am sure he may have been poked by any pin, thumb tags etc..

If he is telling you another story, then its different. But in any case AIDS Virus does take time to show-up. We all will pray that nothing bad happens to him.

Secondly, doha does not have any Clinics that will keep this information on AIDS positivity confidential. All the clinics are told to inform the Ministry of Health once they come across any case.

In its anyone other than the Nationals they will be deported.. so that knowingly or unknowingly it should not spread...

But the best option as mentioned by you is India.. I am sure he will find his answers...

Good Luck..

unfortunately...

if your friend is from one of the westerns countries, he/she can go there and do it anonymously. And even if the result is positive, nobody will be chasing him… if he desides to start a treatment, it's not allowed to disclose it at his/her work and elsewhere... at least in Canada it works this way...

my advice is to first stay clam (even though thats not possible) tell him to take some emergency leave and go back to his home country or something and get a check up done there forget about getting it done here in Qatar. How the heck did he get poked by a infected needle in the first place?

God forbid some1 actually gets into this situation.. what can he/she do.. i believe he/she's pretty bold to take the test.. i mean i know its kinda hard for ppl to juss take the test.. but here its more humilating if tested positive.. i know a person who was wrongly tested positive n he was in his office and the cops came n took him and then deported him... also his wife and child were helpless...they all say that AIDS is not a viral fever and does not spread in Air, still they juss deport you for having AIDS.. Imagine some1 living here 20 yrs...and then this happens to him... I feel sorry.... these guys juss make ppl aware n bring on some exhibitions at cc for display n this bullshit.. when it really comes to actually help some1 suffering.. they tell them to **** off frm here... Crazy ppl...

he asks for the place in Qatar where you can make a test without giving details of your Personal information. is that so hard to understand?

nah Imz, it's next to impossible that you can find such place in Qatar. Try to check in Dubai or some other place, like this guy's country of origin...

It takes about 6 months for the virus to show itself in the system so if it's been less than 6 months, the test will be innacurate. There are some companies that sell at home kits. Just google HIV at home kit. I found one here for you: http://www.homeaccess.com/HIV_Test_Overview.htm

I don't know how reliable they are. I only saw them advertised on the news.
