Fledgling chick on 12th floor balcony :0
By Molly Mandy •
I was sitting on my 12th floor balcony when a fledgling landed from above with a thud! It is purple/blue with a yellow beak and quite large yellow feet. It is the size of a small chick. Has anyone any idea what kind of bird it is so I can give it the correct food to keep it going for now?
It is very cute. I have put it in a small box with tissues and it is sleeping like a baby chick :)
Any adviice would be greatly appreciated.
what is first, an egg or a hen?
egg came from the hen.
but hen is started from an egg.
let us just drink to that.

Brit...we had several hens that made 8 or 9 years old!!!!
its a hen chick for sure..thrown by someone from above..had them when me and the brothers were little..mom gave them away to the maid because of the cats..and then the maid turned up one day with some biryani as a gift..made from my chicks lol
Certainly looks like a hen chick from the souk! Not a natural colour for sure!
Oh yeah, Doh! Well Jessie then .....
Awww soo cuuute. Once I was sitting in the sun-room when a movement caught my eye. From under the door gap (leading to balcony) two veryyyy cute little birdies were quietly exploring the place. One was blue the other was red (original feathers, not dyed). Turned out they were our neighbors', when they came searching for them.
How is James doing? Yeah, looks like a painted chick. Hahaha, that sounds funny :P
I think I may know James' sister.. She's named Brooke :O)
LOLz! really misleading... chick at 12th floor balcony... you can give it seeds to eat.
Can't take it back upstairs, have a bad feelin about doing that :(
I think James (Bond) found me. Imagine, sitting there minding my own business and a baby chicken lands on your balcony. I don't have many days like that .......
Why not visit the flat upstairs and ask if it's theirs. Otherwise adopt it and it will keep you company. I'm not sure what their lifespan is ..
I am in a real dilemma now as I live in a 12th floor apartment with a chicken that I have named James . How will I care for him properly. He likes it when I hold him, he falls asleep in my hands. So cute.
Perhaps the young child upstairs threw it over! I heard more young birds so will be listening out for those now! Maybe he's thrown them all over.
Am going shopping later, will have to buy some chicken supplies now. Oh boy, what a day .......
Osama could be right as it looks like a chicken chick from its beaks and legs but I can't confirm that. It is not possible for a chick to land on a 12th floor unless someone next door purposely threw it. If it is a chicken chick give some crushed/broken raw rice and water in a very very small pot as it will jump. You can use the lid of a water bottle to put some water for it.
Really ..... ! How predictable of you QD ........
it's a painted chicken chick, the same is sold at souq waqef for Q.R. 10 per piece (negotiable)
there are plenty of colors available (all rainbow colors)
but the strange thing is how come it reached to ur balcony in the "12th" floor, it seems that some neighbor is playing with u

So cute. I used to have these wn I was chubby kid.
It is a chicken (as in 'for the pot'). CK - a bird nest??? It is purple.....
oh oh oh, really a chick but it does not look like a mynah. It is surely fledgling and there might be a bird nest somewhere near to your building.
Hey BG that was mine!
It's the Purple Belle-ende native to Papua New Guinea orginally. Not sure what to feed it though.
misleading title
