"R.P & HR Deduction for Emergency Leave”

I have been working in Qatar Private Company since 6th April 2014 to till date. My employment contract is two years & free Accommodation & Transportation.

I was in emergency leave for 40 days because of my illness and I have rejoined back 3 weeks before with given proper medical certificate to the company. Kindly note that the employer approved leave is only for 22 days and before the said days, I have intimated to the employer through email for the reason of over stay. Now I got my salary for the month of October 2015 but there is deduction made by the employer for the reason of “R.P Deduction – HR Deduction for Emergency Leave”. Please note that the deduction is QR.33 per day. Is that legal for Qatar Law?

Thanks & Regards

Kabeer

Mostly, these deductions are stated in the contracts. In some companies, it's stated that RP fees would be deducted appropriately. It is better to clearly read and understand the clauses in the contract before the agreement. Yes, definitely they would deduct the time you over-stayed.

The employer is responsible for all costs related to the visas for employees. deductions are not permitted but happen because people are afraid to complain.

Good luck
