Driving to Mecca from Doha

I'm planning a trip to Mecca for Umra, from Doha, in the next few weeks and was wondering if anyone whose done it could give me some information.

1) I have a Nissan Sunny ? Can I make it in this !!

2) Where can I get the Saudi visa from ?

3) Can I book a hotel for Mecca and then Medina from here - online prices are expensive ?

4) How long does the border crossing take - and is there anything I should be aware of ?

5) Which route should I take ? Jump onto the 40 motorway as soon as possible or try to cut across on smaller roads ?

6) Are there service stations on the way ?

7) Is there a road side rescue service available in Saudi ?

8) What time of the day should I go ? After fajr / Asar ? What's the heat like in June / July ?

9) I have three small children 5, 2, 1 ? Any advise for them ?

10) Would it be good idea to stop in Riyad and have a rest ? Is this about half way ?

11) Is there anything I should take with me for the trip ?

12) On the return is it better to come round from Medina straight and not return to Mecca ?

13) Any other helpful advise will be very, very appreciated ?

Please please help with any of the issues above....

Dear friends,

Assalamvalekum. I would want to travel to Jeddah from Doha by air , travel in saudi through the local transport and stay in hotels in Makkah and Madina.

Please let me know if there is any travel agent who can arrange this along with the visa.

Thanks

1.You car is no problem for traveling.Insya Allah I went before with Civic.

2.Visa U can take from any Hamlah,Doha Transport near by appolo clinic mamoura.Cost below 2 years free,untill 10 years 100,adult 200real.

3.YES,better u book hotel from here.I went Umroh just last week,at present surrounding (350meter)Haram demolised is going on u'll got problem.but if u want hotel sligthly far away from haram no problem.

4.Qatar Border is fast 1.give your car istimara then go to other counter 2.give your paspor 3.then exit officer will receck your exit.

5.better follow normal route cause your car is saloon only.

6.many petrol station full with hotel restoran n others.Btter take SASCO this is the clean one so far.

7.Saudi people will help us if something happen with,it was happen with my friend.

8.better after fajar or you make fajar at qatar border.

9.Insya Allah they will enjoy the journey

10.depend on you if you feel tired better take rest.

11.--- up to U---

12.YES better from madinah direct to riyad very good high way,n petrol station build already now

13.Park u car in haram in safe location. I mean if your park at near by haram police will take your car,n will put somewhere is difficult to find, you need help from haram citizen.

THE NEW RULER IN SAUDI BORDER:

1.U should conduct finger print n photo in saudi border for men n women, child no.

2.after exit from border you should make stamp/copy of your paspor, from exit gate going to left side near Al-Rajhi ATM

3.Better from Hamlah ask for Imigration card in / out from saudi, this will make u fast from qeue .

I hope your UMROH will sucees n mabrouk

Don't forget make DO'A for me, please .in Multazam/raudah

salam Alukom,

My friend it's better to enjoy Umrah service through one of official agents, it will include all of what you asked about, like transportation, accomidition, and one guide.

Hope to all best wishes.

Umrah visa is avl through official agents only not thru embassy

we got ours from Bin Mahmood just close to restaurant Badriya

Better to start your journey after Fajr, on your way there are rest houses

we came direct from Madinah via Riyadh (stayed overnight)

During June/july you will find many families so dont worry.

Have you taken your Umrah class its very imp one, better check at QCPI/Qatar guest centre, they do conduct Umrah classes .
