Dissapointing
I joined this website to find out information on living and working in Qatar - Doha but I was very dissopointed at the posts from other users.People on this website seem to use it as a means of having affairs and indulging in things I would expect an Islamic country would not permit. I'm looking to immigrate for a better quality of living for my children but I must admit I have second thoughts
Qatar is a vibrant, young, multi-cultural society for both expats and nationals. There are laws which govern personal behavior but there are some excesses, of course. If you are expecting a strict adherence to or enforcement of social mores you might well be disappointed here. That said, most of us on QL would never have an affair or would engage in any illegal behavior. Personally I would be offended if someone even suggested that by contributing to this website I would be condoning such behavior. Most of us just have a good time working out how to "live and let live" in the give-and-take of a pluralistic environment and all that entails.

have to be affected with the forums your read here? Qatar is becoming a multi-cultural country and in as much as we,the foreigners (as expats) wanted to understand the way of life & behaviors of the locals here, they (Qataris) are also trying to understand us or the way we absorbed their cultures. And we get along fine (sometimes). As for South-africans in Doha, I've heard lots of them. Just try posting some positive thoughts here and you'll never know, you may end up in a group of your countrymen one day!.Welcome to QL!
I would like to know if there are any South Africans from Cape Town whom I can correspond with or any females who are originally from Doha. I would like to find out more on the quality of life in this country.
