Cheap Driving Test Refresher Course Advice

Short version: good refresher driving course for American to pass Qatari driver test in Gharafa?

I am an American, so my driving situation has become a real pain now that I have my RP.  So, I am sick of waiting for run-arounds and wastas.  I signed up for the driving test myself, and want to pass.  A few months back here on a project, I failed the "course" test, not even the road test.  Numerous people told me conflicting "hints and tips" as did the rest of the blogs and material on the web.  Ironically, no one agrees on whether or not the course test before the road test is required for me as an American.  Everyone I talk to has a different story.  Few are very concrete and the officers forgot I was there.  Fortunately I found it all amusing.  So,

  • American citizen with 9+ years of driving experience.
  • Shamefully, very limited (1 or 2 days) of manual transmission driving.
  • Have driven in Doha before, understand the basic principles, and I did not show off when I had a rental car last time and this time until my RP forced me to return the car and rely on taxis a few weeks ago.
  • I live in the Gharafa/Rayyan area.
  • Does the Transportation Ministry/MoI put out official explanations of the test in Arabic or English I can read?  I do not want more "helpful hints" but rather test requirements.  I know people have all passed doing conflicting things, largely because the officers have a very unique grading scale.

A lot of people try to avoid to the driving school, but because I have limited manual experience and failed the test once, I just want to get it over with guaranteed.  I do not want to waste anymore time.  Any recommendations?  I want some cheap good classes for the half-course (there are seem to be half and full).  Any advice welcome.

you may also want to inquire at Karwa driving school (Mowasalat). Quite expensive but many claimed that it was easy for them to get their driving license through their trainings.

hi alharaka, i've known someone who failed driving test several times. His friends suggested to take half course of driving lesson and fortunately, he passed after the test. I heard much of al khebra and i think they have 5days refresher course, 12 days short course and 25days half course. For further details, you may check the link suggested by mentoy101. Good luck.
