By Ahmermalik •
I've recently moved to Doha, i have a Belgian drivers licence which i would like to change into Qatari... would it be possible to exchange it without going for any practical tests??
If Yes, Could you please elaborate how it can be done??
Thx!
Thanks guys.. @Wee thanks for explaining in so much detail; Ya i surprises me how sometimes people drive here specially in the roundabout i mean it't totally different... taking an exit from most left side :) wow need to keep that in mind.. and sadly to say that people don't indent to give way here.. i mean everyone's in a rush, Duh.. Well i hope i'll orite!!!
@QDCLover Naah.. It's Netherlands mate who more sort of appreciate cycling than cars..
I thought Belgians only rode bicycles?
I have gone thru the sam eprocedure...good luck and thanks for Wee professional explainations.....
As Belgian licence is a EU licence, you should be able to get Qatar licence with only an eye test and payment of licence fee. If you have your residency permit, then you can get a permanent licence (QR250) otherwise you will have to get a temporary licence, valid for 3 months (QR 150). Simply go along to Traffic Department at Madinat Khalifa, with your forms and photos, do the eye test, and assuming you pass go across to the other office and obtain your licence. Normally your company will prepare the paperwork as think sponsor will need to approve.
That's the easy bit...the hard bit starts when you take to the local roads for the first time!!!
