CEID delayed

I recently moved to Doha.I landed a legal job at Qatar Investment Authority soon after coming here. I am a local hire as I was already on my husband's sponsorship and had acquired a PR. They sent me an offer letter, after which I signed a 3 year contract. After the basic proceedings I sent my documents for clearance at CEID but they have been stuck there ever since. It's been almost 3 months but there is no news of clearance. I have no past criminal record or bad conduct of any kind so it's beyond my understanding that why would a clearance take so long. The company's PRO is checking up with them every week but it hasn't been fruitful till now.

Please tell me if the delay is common here or this is a unique situation? Also, please tell me what is the maximum time they take for it or the hearsay? Is there a way to contact the authorities and ask them what is causing the delay?

Looking forward to hear from you

Thank you everyone for sharing their views.

just to be clear, I moved here a couple of months ago hence I said recently. I came here on my husband's sponsorship and have not worked in GCC before. Sorry about the 'PR' what I meant was I have the RP. I got it soon after I came here. Another thing, I have visited CEID many times and so have the company's PRO but they say its stuck In another department and they have no news.

Is there any way to reach out to national departments or figure out where are the document stuck?

Also, what could be the reason? Just qatarizarion?

My company has been asking me to cancel my visa and RP, go back to native country and then come on the work visa they'll send me coz then I can start working right away and CEID clearance will continue on the side. Do you thunk its a good ide

The delay with CID clearance is usually when the government is searching for a Qatari woman to do the same job.

The clearance isn't really for police reasons, it's for employment reasons. In HR and admin jobs it is getting very hard for females on family sponsorship to receive CID clearance.

@ Boxbe... U need to understand , she says:

She recently moved to Qatar ...

She was having Family RP and was under her husband sponsorship ...

She was hired locally in other words not from her native country.

They require CID Clearance for Sponsorship transfer ....

Her CID Clearance is stuck .... Now can you help her ...if its clear....
