CAUTION: BEWARE OF MASHREQ BANK CREDIT CARDS.

Applying for a Gold Credit Card with Mashreq Bank is a big nightmare. The sales officers keeps ringing your mobile phone until they make a full deal out of you.

 

A word of caution. Mashreq Bank do have agents who work on behalf of the Bank for the approval and issue of Credit cards. These people are not straight forward and they play with you....seems to be like fraud.

 

When all required documents and application was handed over to the Mashreq Bank agents, they promised that once approved, the card would be delivered to your address. All this happens in 7 - 10 days time.

 

My application for Credit Card was approved two weeks back and still the card is not despatched. The most horrible part is that when we call up the Mashreq Bank Call Centers, they don't even have any offical records of the application for approved credit cards.

 

However, today morning, I gave a call to a person who claims to be the Head of Credit Card division..who knows???

 

He promised me to give me a confirmation about the despatch of the card despite calling him three times on his mobile no.

I have lost my patience and I strongly feel that this should be highlighted in leading dailies and forum's like this, so people don't fall into traps like this.

 

I don't care a damn about getting their damn card, I just am finding a way to somehow get my Security Cheque back from them.... which was issued as a guarantee...in the worst case....thinking of filing a complaint against fraud with this so called person.

Let us complain to Qatar Central Bank, they can investigate what this Bank is really doing.

I have filed a complaint already in Qatar Cental Bank. Just go to www.qcb.com.qa, go to consumer protection and fill up the complaint form. Let us not just sit down and let this Bank continue with their inconsiderate stuffs. It's not only us who suffer from this Bank, there's a lot more out there but complains only verbally. Together let us put this is writing.

Perhaps, if QCB will find out the case, they would be alarmed that almost 100% are really unhappy with this Bank's service.

Let us make a petition, so to stop and straighten these things up.

Yeah, it's one of the worst banks here... I have applied for Gold credit card and they sent me the Classic one; but the amount limit on the card is same as for the Gold card. I have mentioned to the agent, but no solution was found. I gave up bcs too much headache to go back to re-apply, after that to go again to pick it up...blah!!

I was applying for a credit card in one the leading banks here Doha. They ask me to submit Salary Certificate, then I submit the SC. After 2 weeks I made a follow up on the credit card, they told me that few words are missing in my SC, that I need to ask our accounts department to include wordings like informing the bank to inform them whenever employee is having vacation or if the employee is terminated.

What I did was, I just terminate my application....And have no plans in getting one in the future....

I believe that we must make a group of unsatisfied customers and go to the bank at once angrily. So that the branch manager knows whats going on at the customer service and call centers. When they get one unsatisfied customer they dont care. If they see many angry customers coming. They Might surely change and start being responsible from next time. lol.. What would you guys like to comment on my thought?

hay dude,

I agree with you that some times thr is an unacceptable delay but this -caution-and calling people( not straight forward) is simply not acceptable!!

if you have an issue with the officer ...go to his manager,and stop threaten and accusing people, cuz one guy is for sure not all the staff, and in the same time one customer like you...is not the market.

well it is unheard of for agent of the bank to approve your credit card aplication.  I really want to be an agent of this bank and see how long can the bank survive!

I do.....Its absolutely useless to contact them....just false promises...totally frustrated with these people...golden key resources.

 

They were contacted several times......but absolutely of no use....USELESS!

 agents. My application (for loan) was dragged for almost 4

months then i decided to cancel the agent and tried the branch near TV

round.

 

I got it approved within a week.

I think when comes to complaint, foreign banks are much better as they have to protect they image and if they don't carefully attend to all the complaint then the banks reputation might be affected internationally.

we both encounter the same scenario and i get pissed off when their coordinator on the first teller in their main bank approached me before i took my credit cards with them. swear, they don't know what is customer satisfaction here in doha. not only the bank itself, even in restaurants and other consumer outlet.

and it doesn't matter at all to complain coz until now, i haven't received any response nor action from their office. complaints are not totally beneficial anymore. hence, it will ruin your time, schedule and effort. better solution: forget about Mashreq Credit Cards. no more, no less.

Visiting a branch won't help unless you have any reference or records for the Credit Card application.

 

I had been to the bank branch once and they have made it clear....It all lies with the agent and have to be checked with the agent. The bank has no information on it as of now. When the agent approves it, they issue a copy to the bank informing them about the approval.

 

In my case...approval is obtained two weeks back and still...false promises?????

 

People should really question the executives before making any applications for the so called plastic cards in future. This is what I learned from my bad experience!

 

The agents just want business and they really don't care a damn once you sign for it.

I am sorry for your situation. I am a member and the card has real cool features. For instance you can use the 1st class Lounge at the airport ....... and so on.

Complaints were sent in the form of Fax and Email's...but of no response....that makes them a real damn bank!

 

The worst...Call Centers & Agents!
