i am new here in DOha, and will be here for years to come.... and i would like to ask, Is Suzuki Grand Vitara a good buy? I am looking for a new SUV. Any QL member here using Grand Vitara? What is your review on this?
yes, i am female, I can do stupid things sometimes cause I am allowed too;-)
Stay away from Toyota and Ford.... after purchase service is crap... take your car into the service centre for an oil change and you'll be lucky if you get it back after 5 days.
A friend of mine has a Ford... They lost his car on the lot... more than 6 weeks later they called him to tell him they'd found it.... can you believe that?
I think Hyundai Santa Fe is excellent compare to Suzuki Grand vitara, because Santa Fe has Rear Seat A/c even in the third row. In these hot gulf countries you need Rear seat A/C also for rear seat passengers. Even kia Sorento has rear seat A/C. It is around Qr 85000/=
Some new SUVs N 4WDs in the range of QAR75k-80k are Suzuki Grand vitara, Nissan X-trail, Kia Sportage, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Tucson. Of all these, Kia Sorento appears to be the best.
However, if u go for buying a used SUV/4WD, u can get some good models from Nissan, Toyota and American Manufacturers. U may also find a Toyota Land cruiser from early 2000 models.
had my Suzuki Vitara from new since 2007... love my baby... she gives me no problems, except those that I make;-s
You cannot go wrong with the Vitara.
Fuel consumption is good, never had mechanical problems... had to change my clutch once, but that was due to a friend of mine's stupid driving in the desert.
A/C has just given me problems for the first time in 4 years, but I spend a lot of time driving, so its always on.
BTW, I drive a manual, not sure about the automatic transmission.
It's a decent car, reliable, cheap parts, with a good resale value. For that range of mid sized suv's there probably the cheapest. Have a look at the Chevrolet Traverse also its quite a nice car for a similar price.

So the choices are between Santa Fe, Sorento, Used Prado, and Grand Vitara....
*thinking thinking.....*
I had the previous shape Vitara. Lovely car but the a/c sucked big time. Hope the new one is better!
