Eat canned foods usually tuna, beans etc . Because they are easy to prepare and eat.

Perhaps they were worried about a certain brand?

The shelf life for canned foods is anywhere between 2-5 years.

You probably need more information before sounding an alarm about not eating canned goods. ;)

Did you read this somewhere? Like another poster said, canning has come a long way and they are alright to eat!

Sometimes, I trust a canned vegetable to some of the "fresh" produce I've seen.

There are worse things to worry about!

Sorry krnithyan, don't know of specific brands, you have to read the labels and try to find brands that list sodium content.

Sometimes the salt/sugar lvls can be bit high in tinned food compared to fresh.

Canning technology is much better than it was in the past.

Canned foods are usually high in sodium, but otherwise not so bad for you. Always good to eat as much fresh stuff as possible, though.
