there is a lot of generalisation going on here.

I dont know where Xena got her statistics from.

NOt every Qatari gets that kind of salary.

A lot of Qatari nationals are on low incomes especially if they are junior government employees. Not all Qataris are wealthy and their housing allowances which are part of the salary are very low, last time I knew it was QR1000 a month for junior staff.

May your dreams take you travelling all through your life.

Well I went to Barwa housing interview. They treated really very well and giving hope. They asked about 10 documents like salary certificate, loan certificate, bank statement, Passport and RP copy for self and all family members, school fees receipt copy, photograph, marriage certificate, tenancy contract copy and water&elec bill copy etc., For business people in addition to this they need Comm. Reg copy and if there is any order from court for payment. Now the higher committee will decide the allotment. It seems in 2months they will finalise the allotment and the price is going to be 3,500 for 3bedroom flats and 3000 for 2bedrooms at any site. I hope i will get it.

but why they're not glad? oh pls, don't make us feel dissappointed. Shouldn't we glad we still have roofs on our heads?

West Saliya to me is really far about 20mins straight from Sports City, went through about 3 roundabout after Doha Zoo signals. It is a remote place, but i guess sooner it will not be that remote anymore since there is mall, food center right inside the barwa estate.

woow

i love how you generalize

"I don't think Qatari's earn less than 10qr a mont'

here is examples:

An eductional art teacher at govement school (8000QR)

An accountant at Social affairs ministry (9000QR)

An Auditer at Minstry of Finance (9000QR)

A resident Doctor at HMC (10000QR)

All of them are Qataris & University graduates

IF YOU HAVE READ ALL MY POST FROM THIS THREAD YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN.. IM NOT TALKING ABOUT BARWA.. I HAVE TOO MUCH RESPECT OF THAT COMPANY.

CLICK ON THIS AND READ MY POST.

http://www.qatarliving.com/node/100081

I AM TALKING ABOUT THE MAIN CONTRACTOR OF BARWA HOUSING  PROJECT.

CHARANSOI.. I'VE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT THE MAIN CONTRACTOR..

ITS TRUE THE PROJECT IS SOOOOOO DELAYED.. AND ITS NOT THE FAULT OF BARWA, ITS MAIN CONTRACTORS FAULT NO PROPER PLANNING AND EVERYTHING PLUS SENIOR MANAGEMENT HAS NO EXPERIENCED IN CONSTRUCTION.

THIS IS ACCORDING TO WHAT I'VE HEARD FROM MY FRIENDS WORKING

IN ONE OF THEIR SUBBIES.

impression it was supposed to be low income family accomodation.... I was at the press conference when it was announced....

But when the closing of the applications came round, it said that 80% of the approvals would be for qataris.... Which made no sense to me.... as in general I don't think Qatari's earn less than 10qr a month.... (taking a guesstamit) here.

contractors are good and the quality also.

Cost was well reported many times in GT Peninsular etc- QR3500 for apt.

Supposed to be open to "low income" families so not sure how many Qatari's will qualify. I suppose it depends upon the benchmark as I'm sure all think they are low income compared to the next highest person.............

Nefertiti ! ...How you know about Barwa's Main Contractors.

By qatarisun• 24 Apr 2008 15:52
qatarisun

you again?? who is their main contractor on this project? i will find it out on Sunday...if you are angry with the main contractor, don't spoil the credibility of Barwa in general! Barwa is huge Company, and if one of its contractors is not "good enough" from your point of view, it doesn't mean you can blame on BARWA for it!

So you better be careful! got it?

As far i understood mostly it is for nationals. very few will be for expats , 1st preferance is for Arab national. no idea how far it is true. Also understood from sources work is delayed than the targeted period. Hope it is not a crank call ............... any way all the best if it is reality as you sound to be ajack pot winner in Doha
