Foreign employees who wish to bring their families to live in Qatar or renew their residence visas are required to seek approval from the Ministry of Interior.

Application Process

Follow these steps to apply for or renew a Family Residence Visa:

• Print and fill out form.

• Submit the application along with the supporting documents to the Passports Department.

• Pay appropriate fees.

Conditions & Requirements

The following conditions apply:

• Submit supporting documents for the application.
• Copy of attested work contract citing profession and salary.
• Attested certificate to prove the relation.
• Good conduct certificate attested by concerned authorities for adults.
• Pass the medical test outside the country as per the mechanism laid by the concerned authorities.
• Any other condition deemed by concerned authorities.

Visa issuance Fee: QR 200.

1. Photocopy of the sponsor's I.D card.

2. Photocopy of valid passport of the person to be brought in.

3. An attested copy of marriage contract & birth certificates for children.

4. An attested copy of the employment contract emphasizing Job & Salary.

5. A certificate of good conduct (Police Clearance) which is attested by the relevant authorities for adults.

6. A health insurance with a company that is accepted in the state, for the whole duration of the visitor's stay in the country.

7. Pass the medical examination abroad in accordance with the adopted mechanism by the relevant authorities.

8. Any other conditions deemed necessary by the relevant authority in this regard.

My question please: 

For Philippine-based spouse (e.g., wife of an Overseas Filipino Worker with Residence Permit visa and valid QID), is item-5 above satisfied by the NBI Clearance attested by the Philippine Government's Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Qatar Embassy in the Philippines?

Or is item-5 referring the regular / normal Police Clearance issued at the spouse's municipality and attested by the DFA and the Qatar Empassy in the Philippines?

Or is it an altogether new document produced by the Qatar Embassy in the Philippines on request by the spouse?
