Am I the only one .....?!!!!!

Many schools here don't have buses and I can't find a trustworthy transportation for my little kid....and actually it is not an issue for many parents
Am I the only one facing this problem here in Qatar?
what should the working parents do?
if they are not able to drop and pick their kids to and from the school?
How can we leave our small kids with stranger driver alone ????????
Please help or advice?
or tell me what are you doing?
Thanks

Who is presently taking her to the daycare, you may have to consider recruiting a nanny on your own sponsorship, if you are unable to find another way to solve this matter.

Fairy you are closing all the doors yourself. We have given you suggestions, now you need of think of a way of doing something. Isn't anyone from your friend circle sending their children to that school. Contacting a parent is only through the teacher, but you need to also see that the parents lives nearby.

Or you need to work out a deal with the company that allows you to pick and drop your child and they calculate your salary accordingly, this is possible, but again, if you are working in mesaieed or ras Laffan, it's difficult.

My daughter is going to a day care after school because I thought it is safer and better than staying with a nanny alone

Fairy, there will be other 4-5 year olds at the same school and facing a similar transport situation, they are been dropped or picked up by somebody. So you need to talk to your child's teacher to find out how other parents manage.

You can also drop your child at the classmates house who is dropped by the parent.again a huge responsibility and requires mutual understanding between parents, but better than sending your child alone in a car with a driver.

Hi fairy, I thought as much that your baby is in kindergarten, hence the fear, which is understandable. Again, who is taking care of your baby when you are not home. Kindergarten gets over early, so she is home early. Do you have a maid or nanny who takes care of her.

Or you need to check with your close friend, if she can do this for you, because you should be able to trust friends. Its a huge responsibility, but you will arrange the transport to pick your friend up and drop her back to her house. At least then you are again assured that your child is in trusted hands. Doesn't the school have a crèche facility at school so the child can stay longer in school till you pick the child up.

great advices Han 19 but actually it seems that no one is in the same situation

My child is only 4 years taht's why Iam so worried

Iam trying now to change the school and I called 2 schools but they don't provide transportation too

but I will keep trying before leaving my job

How young is your child? Who takes care of your child when you are not home?majority of the families here are working families so this is a common concern.

Yup, have a nanny or maid who will travel with your child till school and pick her up if you are working odd timing. But here you need to trust your nanny/ maid completely.

Find like families with similar situation and share the transport with them. If the school doesn't provide transport then all the parents of that school face the same problem. It's safer in a group of children than one child traveling alone. Make sure your child is not picked up first and dropped last.

You can change the school to a school that provides transport.

Last option is to leave your job and do this task yourself, only then will you feel assured.

Better you can buy a second hand car.... its not too expensive, from 10,000 QR onwards you can get a good old car, you can use if for your family purpose also...... I think this is the best option....

Be aware most of these private transport don't have well maintained car and full insurance coverage.

There are many private vans with pick n drop service, but you have to search for it...the best way for it next time when you go for dropping down your kid, stay there for a while...hopefully you'll find one of them...or if you have some other schools nearby, you can find some vans there but they are private and don’t have any organized system for contact.

Sometime query with the school management would be helpful for sorting out conveyance problem as they have some van's contact numbers :)

Actually Ghazalz the school doesn't provide transportation

Sharing private van or Transportation sharing with many students is a very good solution but I don't know other parents who needs transportation or willing to share

Parents usually get registered their children for school transport...if they don't have the option of school transport.

they hire private van shared by many students...

Some parents arrange it with mutual understanding for one way commute; for picking up by one's parent and dropping down by other's...

Try to convince the School Authorities to send the teachers to your house to teach your little kid.......

Transportation is then their problem.

That saves you the trouble of droping/picking up your little kid or trusting stranger drivers.......

I have opted private transportation for my little one over school bus..The only difference between me and you is that i left my job just to take care of my baby..I drop and pick her up from the school..Though its time consuming but it gives me a mental satisfaction atleast..

Working Parents (in our part of world we call Working Families)mean both husband and wife are working. This is normally in the western countries and very very less and minimal in here. IN here mostly some one is always availabe in their house so they have no problem.

My suggestion is bring your father or mother here under your sponcer and let him/her take care of your kids.

That will be safe.
