Advice/Info. on RP expiring (is there 1 or 3 month grace period for renewal?)
Salam Alaikum,
Does anyone know or have experience in their residence permit expiring. I am currently living in qatar but my RP (which is on family residence) will be expiring soon.
I am currently in the process of interviewing for a job, however I want to know can i stay in qatar with my family after the RP expires?
Do i get a 1 or 3 month grace period before I have to pay any fines?
PLease any information will be very useful because I have heard conflicting advice from many different sources and my visit to the MOI was not very helpful
Thankyou, I really look forward to hearing from you
thank you for your advice. unfortunately this is such a hassle and trouble, my family and home is here, i have nowhere else to go. That's why i wanted to know if i can manage to change my sponsor within a few weeks or a month, will i still be able to do it if my family rp expires (without a a fine and with a grace period of 1 or 3 months)?
I am all ears, If anyone has knowledge of that and even any current temporary or underpaid job offers in Qatar ^^
Now that explains the reason...unfortunately, you have no other option but to find a sponsor to transfer to...you need to find a company that "sells" visa if you want to stay here, or find an employer that will sponsor you.
good luck!
I would love to renew my family rp but apparently only girls/daughters can renew it after the age of 18? for instance i need a new sponsor (other than family member or a qatari national) since i have finished university a few years ago and am older than the age of 18? I graduated from qatar foundation with a B.Sc in computer science and worked under my family rp because the company couldnt sponsor me. now my family rp is expiring but i am not sure if i will be able to find and change to a new employer before it does. what should i do in this case?
venus and maome12 are right. You have a 3 months grace period after the expiration.
More problems arises when everything "Expires " ... dont wait for expiry date renew it or else its the end of it.
Proceed to immigration and renew your family RP. What is keeping you from doing that? It will only take half a day.
yes i have heard about the 3 month grace period (and some have told me its 1 month grace period with a fine of qr 20) and you are right it might be different for family residence visa! thats why i am a little confused and worried.
Well how can i know the process for family visa's then? can anyone please help me on that matter? If you know someone or have any other information/source I would super greatly appreciate it.
