2013 Mazda CX-9 or 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

By aerofoiler •
Hi all
Am on the brink of choosing a new car for myself and family. Have a budget of not more than 140K.
Am in a dilemma about the subject cars. I love the Mazda, its a beautiful drive. Haven't driven the new Pathy yet.
But Mazda gives me a lot more options in the same price, whereas for the same in the Pathy I'll have to spend at least 25K more.
Whatever I buy, I want to sell it out in exactly 2 years time and expect at least 100K cash in hand if not more.
Just FYI, I am an experienced driver, having changed many cars over they years in Qatar.
Which one guys?
How much is installment for the mazda cx9 for 5 yearloan?
Kindly mention your final price
Thanks

the new pathfinder is not a 4 X 4 and a 3.5L engine
With this budget, i would go for a 4L Prado..148K
agree with mohdata on the new pathfinder design....
I already did a research on that...
I would rather prefer a Kia Mohave to the new pathfinder..
if you are ok with driving a much lesser car for two years just to get a higher resale, then maybe the Pathfinder; otherwise there's no comparo between the two..the CX-9 is almost like a car in its handling/ride /comfort..simply a much better package than the current Pathfinder..the Pathy has had the soul sucked out of it with this new design..the old ones at least had that tough butch look about them..read online reviews of both cars and that should help..
Pathfinder is better .. I bought it 2 months back .
but a re-sell value go for Prado .
Just to understand the re-sale value, since you said 100K after a span of 2 years...
Not sure of the new prices
go for Mazda..
LL, whats the cost of mazda cx-9 basic option ?
I own a Mazda CX-9. You will not get the driving pleasure from Pathfinder. resale is not a problem. You can definitely sell Mazda CX-9 for 100K after 2 years (with a 30000km mileage)
The shape and engine of old pathfinder was much better.
The new one comes with a 3.5L
Prado 4L is a good option, but don't expect a awesome interior...It has a good re-sale value for sure..
If you are thinking about the sell on value, then for sure go for the pathfinder as they hold there value and sell well here as they are a very popular car, make sure you buy seat covers if you are planning to sell in 2 years too .....good luck!
If you can add another QRS 20-25,000 to your budget,i would suggest the Land Criuser basic model.I don't like the new Pathfinder in fact,i feel it is dissapointing. The CX-9 looks promising.
Mazda CX9 - I know you will enjoy a lot of new features and options on it. however you will not able to get the re-sale value you wish and its not easy to sell a second hand Mazda.
Nissan Pathfinder - I believe they almost have similar options But in terms of re-sale; nissan makes a highest re-sale compare to MAzda and easy to sell as most residence like nissan after toyota.
go for pathfinder , if u want to sell after 2 years
