a race against skin tone

we pinoys hate it when we are being discriminated by other nationals, especially that of 1st world... as brownman who've travelled across the globe, i know exactly how "racial discrimination" feels... but do you know that apart from this, there is aslo something called "intra-racial discrimination"? this is the worst kind... your fellow national discriminating you. here's the story...
my wife & i one weekday was craving for rib racks & went to TGI's fridays villagio mall. the place was staffed with filipinos, around 80% of the whole crew. one thing i notice about them is how "cold" they are... you can see in their faces the wonder of how brownman like us could afford a QAR.150/head dinner. we feel like we're being booted out of the place. shortly, a group of american servicemen walked in & betcha by golly wow! kulang na lang salubungin sila ng nakaluhod as everybody welcomed the group with smiles & warm welcome. ano yun!? on top of that, the waitresses kept on refilling their bottomless drinks while i, have to call & ask them almost to the point of begging. after our meal, i called the waitress & asked for my bill. i paid my bill then gave her a QAR.100 tip then told her, "here's a QAR.100 tip for you & go buy yourself a book about real customer service".
hindi lang po sa resto na experience ang ganitong treatment. sa grocery, specialty shops, designer clothing shops, etc. our fellow pinoys treat their kababayan differently.
mga kababayan sa service industry, sana po bilang kapwa pinoy, treat us with the service warmth the way you treat other nationals... if you do, that's an achievement in itself that you understand the true nature of your job.
