Halatang masama ang loob ni Maria Venus Raj sa pagkaka-dethrone niya as the Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010 dahil diumano sa inconsistencies na natagpuan ng pamunuan ng Binibining Pilipinas Charities sa kanyang mga statements tungkol sa kanyang kapanganakan at sa kanyang birth certificate. “Sobrang sakit lang po sa akin ang sinasabi nila na I am disqualified kasi I am born out of wedlock and hindi ako qualified for Miss Universe (pageant) dahil hindi ako ipinanganak sa Pilipinas at kung may inconsistencies man po, sa tingin ko, hindi ko kasalanan ‘yon,” himutok ng 23-year-old beauty queen sa The Buzz kahapon. Sinabi rin ni Venus na kumukonsulta na siya sa abogado dahil ilalaban daw umano niya ang kanyang korona na aniya ay pinaghirapan niyang makuha at deserving siya rito.
