Manila Memory Lane

Kabayans, where art thou? Well, that question is really for me right? What am I doing at home? I should be there with you for the M3 thing. Blame it on MeLanie Marquez.

I was trying to change my Melanism to that famous answer Melanie did during the Miss International 1979 Beauty Contest, and she bagged the title (at 15 yrs old). One link lead to another.

Then I stumbled upon a nice site "Nostalgic Manila". Seen old pictures from 70's-'80's and a lot of memories flashbacked suddenly.

Was trying to dig the wholewide world web for some more pictures of Old Manila, lo and behold I found this site. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVQMTF3dClQ
The video is nice, although the pictures were not set in chronological order.

Beep beep beep is a song by Juan Dela Cruz band. A lot of hit songs by JDLC like Ang himig Natin (Our Music), Balong Malalim (Well so Deep), Titser's Enemy No.1. 70's music gave way to Manila Sound.

Although some of Manila Sound artists, were copying the styles of BeeGees (BoyFriends), Village People( Hagibis). the point is, all songs were in Tagalog. Bands from the 90s and to date have acknowledge the influence of 70s artists in their nusic.

Going back to Nostalgia Manila, you'll find old pictures of Nida Blanca, your favorite and mine- Anabelle Rama, and other actors. You'll see different models of Adidas. Skatetown, Sergio Tachini, Topsiders,Bagets, The Tigers, to name a few

Just for the record
5.6 Php = 1USD,37 yrs ago
48.9 php= 1 USD, atm.

So where is this forum I heading to? I really don't know. All I know is that life was much much simple 30 yrs ago.

Let's have a look at the link and share your memories here.
