TWO by TWO at Katara (craft workshops)
For the first time in Doha, TWO BY TWO brings together Qatari Productive Families with artisans from other nationalities in Doha.
This Friday 22nd January, 7 creative workshops working in pairs and a small market will be held from 6pm to 9pm at Katara (Building 15 Hall).
Organised by the Department of Productive Families from the Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs, TWO BY TWO is an exchange of experiences, techniques and creativity between a Qatari artisan from Productive Families and a Doha resident artisan from any nationality.
There will be a number of pairs of artisans to cover the 7 following subjects:
1. SADU & CROCHET
2. JEWELRY
3. DECOUPAGE & SMALL FURNITURE
4. AQUARELLE & PAINTINGS
5. PERFUMES & CREAMS
6. CLOTHES & PATCHWORK
7. DOLLS, CUSHIONS & KIDS´ ITEMS
TWO BY TWO proposes the craft and artistic meeting promoting the active participation of the 14 artisans involved. The event will value the creative processes that occur in the different disciplines from the work developed over some hours between pairs of Qatari artisans and residents from any nationality in Doha.
CREATIVE WORKSHOPS : Each pair of artisans works together for 3 hours and creates a unique product or prototype designed by four hands.
The workshops are not open to the public and will be held from 3pm to 6pm.
VISITORS OPEN MARKET: After the workshops, the 14 artisans will show and sell their own products in separate stalls. This will be an original and eclectic artisan market open to the public. From 6pm to 9pm.
