South African Freedom Day - Nelson Mandela Centenary Celebration Public
2018 has been named his Centenary Year with special events around the world to honour the life and work of one of the most loved icons of our era, an anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist, who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
Friday 27 April, Freedom Day will be a day of celebration for the whole family, in the Ritz Carlton Garden, starting at 1pm. Attractions include a games and activities corner for children, a pamper zone for ladies (with workshops and beauty tips to perk up that glamour in the desert, a fashion show with a top South African designer, a South African sports celebrity, a tribal drumming workshop hosted by Mr. P and stacks of South African spirit.
The food on offer will have a South African twist with classic a la carte treats in the garden for you to savour and a special South African themed brunch at The Ritz-Carlton Farmers Market. Local Dj favourites will kickstart the party at sunset which will allow guests to dance well into the night.
There is no charge and entry is welcome to everyone, South Africans are notoriously hospitable, so come on down to share and experience the Rainbow Nation.
