I am moving to Qatar from Dubai this december and need to put my kids to good schools.

Currently one is studying in IB and the other British standard.

What are the good schools with IB curriculum and willing to take kids in the mid of the yr. I know DSS only looking for British nationals which I find to be very offending (I am Asian Canadian). I am looking for school which do not have these type of offending criterias for addmission.

I believe schools should be open for all kids who demonstrate the academic and excurr qualities rather than race, citizenship, etc.....

DESS is open to students from all backgrounds. There are many Pakistani and Indian students who attend the school although they do give preference to British nationals. This is because the British Embassy supports certain elements of the school. Being a school that offers a good standard of education, there is great competition for places although this should not deter you from applying.

As a Canadian you may also wish to try ASD (American School Doha).

If you are specifically looking for IB schools then, the International School of London and Sherborne are both due to offer IB for senior years.

Al-Jazeera offers IB but it's attainment levels are very poor.

There are lots of British schools in Doha i.e. Newton school, Gulf English school, Aljazeera Academy, British Montessori and many more.

To be honest, it's nearly impossible to find a spot for your children in any schools in mid year. I am speaking from experience.
