Hi all,

My children school is charging the school bus fee for the months of vacation. The reason they gave is that their contract with the transport company is for year.

Please comment.

may be they can charge 50% instead full, because they are saving vehicle rental cost of two months and fuel, maintenance etc..

Yes, the school is paying to the drivers. But the teachers are not paid a regular salary but half (no teaching allowance) and there is no transportation cost (fuelling) during these summer vacations.

Moreover, the school always ask money for any extra-curricular activity outside school mentioning as transportation charges.

According to your thinking, schools should also not be charging any fee for the summer vacation as there are no classes held during this period. Don't the drivers of the school buses need to get paid a salary for the months during school vacation? Put yourself in their position and then think. Also, if you check back home in your own country, you will learn that all bus drivers get paid during school vacations. What is your reasoning behind your worry that schools should not be charging school bus fee during summer vacations?
