Is it possible to doorstep schools looking for work?

In Europe, there are many agencies advertising teaching posts in Doha. The criteria is steep - and so it should be - but my question is this....
Is it possible for a qualified and experienced teacher to go around the schools in Doha - whilst visiting the country - and really have a chance of a job.?
I find that the agencies have strict age limits on applicants whereas age brings experience in my opinion.

Hi, Actually writing this for my wife who has been wondering if she can get a job now aged 48. Suffering form the humiliation of being made redundant due to economic woes of an academy here in the UK. Yes I know there are opportunities but she needs a bit of extra feedback hence my question.

Interested in getting ideas of which schools are recruiting if that is possible my friends in QL

I am puzzled as to your post - you are looking for a job as a teacher and yet your profile says you are a concert promoter. Also your age according to your profile should be no problem - if you were close to 60, then that is a different story altogether. Please can you state your profession so people can give you more informed advice.
