My son is an ISL Primary Year 1 student. He started with ISL last year. I can say that we are very happy with ISL, and i would give 9/10 if i should give a rating. I and my family believe that it is one of the best international schools available in Qatar.
First of all the management is very good. They are in close contact with parents all the time, they try to make parents participate in the events that they are organizing for the kids, they are always open to suggestions and complaints, and they are very serious in education.
Regarding the teachers; they are well experienced and they know what they are doing. Almost all teachers are native English speakers which is very important. They are very caring for the kids, and kids are very happy with them.
All classes are well equipped and almost all teaching materials, as well as educational toys are available for students. Classes are very colorfull and are not overcrowded.
In ISL, they follow International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years (PYP) programme. They have not been certified yet, but they will get necessary approvals very soon, which will be a great plus for the students.
As for the level and quality of education, my son is very good example.. He started last year, and he did not know any english (even a single word) by the time he started. We were just smiling at each other, when his class teacher said that he was going to start speaking and writing in english by the beginning of this year. My son now is speaking english in the classroom with his teachers, and with his friends. He learned to read, and write. He still has some time to master english, but his level now is good enough for him to express himself in the lectures and among his friends. His math and art skills improved as well. He is very happy with his school, and i believe this is very important for us as parents.
I hope i could give you as much details as possible for ISL, from the point of view of a parent. You can also get details about school from it's web site www.islqatar.com. And you can also find an evaluation report by the Supreme Education Council of Qatar from http://www.education.gov.qa/SRC/0809/PPINT4210809LR.pdf for ISL.
