Hello Folks

Can anyone please recommend a good school for American Syllabus or IB for a grade 9 kid. I know about American School of Doha and would like to know if there are any alternatives.

Thanks

ASD is not the only accredited American school in Doha. DeBakey is as well. DeBakey came over last year as one of two of the first intake of the Outstanding Schools initiative. Students at the US campus consistently rank in the top in the US. The High School in the US recently ranked 40th out of all High Schools in the US - http://www.usnews.com/listings/high-schools/texas/michael_e_debakey_high_school_for_health_professions

IB is for upper grades, not grade 9.

For American curriculum, also try the DeBakey High School, it's an award winning school from Texas. You can find info at http://www.qatarliving.com/schools/michael-e-debakey-high-school-for-health-professions-at-qatar

the website seems to be down, but the phone would work. I can get you other contact info if you need it.

ASD is the ONLY accredited American school in all of Qatar. They offer both AP and IB programs. For a list of schools in Doha look over to your right under the Guide to Qatar. Qatar schools database is the second listing. Also check out the George Debakey school for medical professionals. Its parent school is in Houston, Texas. Don't know anyone who goes there (it's very new) so can't give you any feedback.
