I honestly don't think router overheating is something you should worry about.

if you want to buy a router go to Amazon or Amazon UK and type in the router brand and model and read the review. They'll let you know what you need.

There's also www.consumersearch.com

When your router get overheated it would never burn in flames, it would get restarted and in the worst cases .. You gotta rest the router to let it work again ... All electrical equipments are generating heat, but they are not the same .... you can't place the router for example in the kitchen and say .. it is normal.

It is like the XBOX 360, this console is one of the worst and i know someone who bought 3 of them. He is crazy about it because of some of the games, but i would never buy it or even think about it. Why do you think that this console got Hard Drive problems all over the world?

There is no good cooling system, ... the processor got 8 Cores, but no enough cooling system .. and that is why people keep on getting this problem and their consoles die on them and the most famous error that they got is .... Hard Drive Failure ... because of what? Overheating ... :)

I don't understand what the heat generated has to do with anything.

All electronic gadgets and gizmos emit heat. At least it's not a notebook that you can put on your lap.

I have yet to hear about a router that overheated and burst into flames, unlike some notebooks that did just that and caught fire (battery issue).

Heat will always be emitted by electronic items, especially PCs and their peripherals and accessories. But that does not impair their functionality nor is it a criteria for their viability as a purchase option.

I don't know which D-Link are you using, but out of the 4 people that I know and they got it .. 3 were complaining. Most of the people who got Netgear were saying that the range is ok and no problem with the connectivity, but the device were very hot [especially the small models]. I did not use Netgear for a while so I'm not sure if they overcome this issue. Compared to the other models, it heats up faster than them. So i does heat up e46M3, but not quickly :)

to sofitel and check there and don't get a D-Link or Belkin, Netgear heats up quickly .. get a 3COM or a Linksys .. the prices in Jarir and Those shops are high. Check this:

Jarir Virgin Sofitel

Linksys 370 360 310

3COM 320 ____ 240

That was the last time i checked the prices, so maybe it was updated since that time.

Good Luck ...
