Vodafone Qatar - One year of Existence
What’s your opinion on Vodafone service in Qatar after a year of their Domicile. Mine follows.
Pons - Areas Improved
1. It made significant improvement on coverage footprint.
2. Introduced mifi and wireless mobile Broadband.
3. Great offers like world calling card, and great international calling rates.
4. First to offer iPhone 4 in Qatar market
5. Introduced online facility to reload flexi red prepaid.
6. Biggest achievement in bringing down the international calling rates from QR 2.15 to QR 0.99.
cons - Areas need Improvement
1. Yet to improve on voice quality resulting in same old complains of frequent call drops.
2. Yet to improve on the connectivity issues, still need to try a calling more than twice to get a call through.
3. Balance query system isnt simple, the return sms for balance query often has problem. Could have a simple balance query system alike qtel.
4. Whenever you call 111 - customer service, standard answer for any query, "we are facing some network problem at the moment"
5. What’s the real difference between flexi freedom and red actually!!
6. No new and flexible voice cum data plans yet. and yet to launch landline and home broadband service.
Overall it’s always healthy to have competition. So thanks to Vodafone for contributing to this competition and giving mobile users in Qatar, a choice :-)
i'm glad vodafone was here in qatar... they offer the cheapest phone ever...
I am so glad Vodafone are here. I cannot face going into a Qtel showroom ever again! I use a Vodafone MiFi which costs me just QR 100 for 2GB. I bought my iPhone 3Gs from Vodafone without any issues. Yet when I went to buy my son an iPhone 4 from Qtel last week (Vodafone had run out)I had to cue forever. Even though I was there when the doors opened, the speed and quality of service was shocking. It took nearly an hour to get served. I didn't get offered a free micro SIM either. All the staff were miserable, and I hated the experience so much I couldn't wait to get out.
I walked straight out, went next door to Vodafone (Landmark) and got a new micro SIM from them instead. The staff in there superb. Friendly, knowledgeable on the iPhone 4, and they smiled and were fun to be around.
Take notice Qtel... you can only rely on your market domination for so long.
Top marks Vodafone, and thank you for being there.
