Trying to sell a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really find qatarliving.com a very informative and helpful website, but I have a big gripe... I am currently trying to sell my car and thought posting an ad on this website would be great as there are loads of people logging on and reading it every day... however... I was VERY wrong.
I posted an ad last night (27th June) around 8pm and went to look at the ad this morning only to find it is now on page 10!!!!!!!!!! There have been 200 car advertisements placed between 8pm last night and midday today. I looked at the ad's closely and it seems to me that car dealerships are simply using this website for free advertising... This makes it very difficult for me to sell my car as no sooner do I post the ad, then another 30 cars are also put on before the hour is even up.
Is it possible for qatarliving to maybe filter the ads and only allow one ad per email address per day or something. This would greatly cut down on car dealers using your website for free advertising and give us genuine private car sellers a chance to sell our cars.
Has anyone else had simliar stories when trying to sell a car on qatarliving. Also does anybody know any other places I could advertise my car - it is a 2004 Ford F-150 Pick Up Truck.
My first car didn't sell through QL. It was a laugh when people rang me offering 25% below the asking price CASH... I always asked them if they thought I wanted payment in bananas??? It sold straight away on qatarsale dot com and the service was professional. My second car took 6 hours to sell on QL - first person to call kept the appointment to see it and bought it straight away. People will offer you much less if they feel you are desperate to sell it because you are leaving. We sold both cars and are ready to leave at short notice if required - no hassle. This time of the year and until September car sales suffer a huge drop - many people leaving or away for the summer, too much on offer. Then in September there are magnificent Ramadan/Eid promotions. Car prices have dropped substancially due to the financial crisis and yes, the ME is affected too.
Good luck selling your vehicle!

go to this website and call them, they will send someone to take pictures for your car and all the other details.

I sold my car through thus website and i can remember very well that i got alot of calls even from outside qatar
all the best with selling your car
I put my car on Qatarliving.com a week ago, it sold after two days to a lovely couple who were genuine about buying it.
I would caution if you get calls from showrooms here, I did, and in my experience they take your car and basically use it like a piece of sh*t, and when you get it back it's filthy and there is a bit more mileage on the clock than when you gave it to them!
Also, being a woman and british, they clearly tried to fleece me by telling me i'd not get much for the car, which was a truly dishonest thing as I've now sold it for a brilliant price.
I think they're crooks. So. My advice is, good you put it on here, only see personal buyers, not showrooms, and also, put an add on your company website/souk like QP have one, and also use a paper ad in somewhere like Megamart notice board... A friend did that for me but the car sold via QL anyway. Best of luck!
We find lot of posts even in case of housing coloumns also all real estate people advertise for free,in order to search it will be laborious
Post your add here.

as per my suggestion , why mods dont bound the user to post single forum topic or classified a day... :s
Its not the web but the user who can filter and search what exactly he wants.
A potential buyer will do so. dont worry.
Drive your pick up to INDUSTRIAL area where the usual place for selling or buying cars on the spot!
i m with in this regard... people post no. of classifieds in a day... sometime becomes difficult for the viewers to choice...
QLers are smart people, they do know how to use the search option. don't worry, they'll be able to see your ad if that's what they're looking for. Good luck.
