Is there a big shopping sale here in Doha?
Just like in the US, every THANKSGIVING (normally 3rd week of Nov), they have this 3-day THANKSGIVING SALE...
It's like 50%-90% discounts on all items (eg. groceries, clothes, electronics, jewelry, etc)
Imagine paying only USD $120+ for a COACH ERGO LEATHER HANDBAG, that originally has a price of USD $500+....
I wonder if here in Doha they would also have this "big shopping sale season'....

we're on the same boat -- i, too, asked that question here in QL the first time I got here and I got some pretty moronic answers from peeps who know nothing about the passion for REAL BARGAIN HUNTING.
i've been here since December last year and so far, the only good sales I have seen are the semi-annual sales last July/August. Debenhams reduced prices of selected items to up to 80%. Topshop had super reduced + buy1/take1 on the last few days. NEXT had some good deals also. Oha round March I also remembered Dorothy Perkins had up to 80% off.
they usually start with "great value" offers, then slash the prices down further -- until the lowest which are the "BEST VALUE" offers.
shopping is kinda like a career for me so I am always on the lookout for sales and bargains -- especially of branded items that are on unbelievable offers. so maybe we should update each other on our finds :P
i was everywhere looking for great sales during Eid, but ddnt find any. Let's see "after Eid" :P

Shops in Qatar seem to have a sale on every other week! And I seem to remember in previous years they have had them after the Eid holiday.

Of course there are sales here, like everywhere else- where do you come from ? (Ohhh, US of course) THere are sales everywhere in the world, why do you think ?? To get rid of left overs before new things are coming in to the shop. If you've been around a while you would have seen sales quite often.
