Peace be upon you, and how do you do?.

Regarding to your topic about going to City Center and parking space.

First of all, before the closing of first floor parking area, I used to come early on friday and park in there. Nevertheless, the parking problem for people who comes late was a headache for the most.

However, I heared about an available parking space for City Center visitors near by, but never checked it yet!.

Secondly, I have noticed many people used to park in the area near by City Center and specially in the opposite side of main door, but that is only a matter of time before the buildings of that area get inhabited and starts to ask for their right of the parking spaces in there.

Although, I can understand why people does not like to park in City Center parking spaces, as they would be charged for that, and sometimes it is really teasing thing when they charge you for the extra couple of minutes your car have been parked in there or lets say when it is still behind the barrier waitting for the long line of cars. Also What ever you try and with your calculations of the time your car been parked in there and the time to drive out, yet they still could catch you and take the extra money for even a minute after the parking time passed?!.

In the other hand, parking in City Center parking area still has got it's advantages, like your car would be away from the burning sun in day time, and you could find a car washing service incase you could not find the time to take your care for washing, Also it is still a safer place to keep your car away from getting stolen. Unfortunately till now you still can't guarantee your car doors sides from dents or marks because of near by cars of carless drivers and their passengers who could do it on your car doors. And the best soulution for that is either to get lucky and find a single parking or search for a bigger space specially when parking the car near parking pillars, but you have to watch out when you take your car out of the parking space and to leave a safe distance , so you don't hit your car. ;)

As a matter in fact, I have stopped going to City Center since they closed the first floor parking till now.

Finally, here is a tip that could be useful sometimes ONLY in earlier times..!! , and it could help to gain more time with less charges. As you know that the first couple of hours is charged much less than the third or the comming hours after that, so you could make your calculations for the first couple of hours, and take your car out of the parking area before the end of second hour and after passing the barrier booth, then drive in again from the other entrance barrier, so they would start a new session as you get a new parking ticket.

My husband and I normally park right across the W-hotel. There is a lot there. Its free for now until they might build an empty building again.

Guys, please note that there are no more stickers for parking fine. They will now scan the new number plates with Computer Chips and fine you which will automatically recorded in the Traffic Department. For old number plates they will enter the details in the machine and send it to the Traffic Department.

I am sure that OP above parked on a street where it is signed no parking, hence he got a parking ticket. Of he parked on a footpath.

This is reminder to all of us to Park in allocated areas. Just because you park there all the time, does not make it right if you are parking in a no parking street.

i agree pay a small parking fee , and park in designated parking area.... we always park inside , but offcourse with limited amount of parking and waiting in the que ,is frustrating..so we kinda avoid CC .

but now ill try the place season told :-)

While the parking is a mess within CC, they had reduced parking space to build new shops.

It's a win-win situation. Both the police and CC management get paid by us parking our cars.. So lets just use the public transport system..

It is a parking mess around CC - I am surprised that CC management have not allocated more parking spaces or come to some arrangement with traffic police.

Actually there is a building ground plus three floors only for parking its in front of city centre and behind Ministry of Energy and it's free of cost..

Better pay small fee and park inside CC.

I also was in city centre and I noted that police man was trying to get the slip from that, due to some problem he taken snaps and left it. He did for car where they parked in platform left right.
