Annhita,

It’s not the “name” that is the problem, it’s the intention of disguising it that says a lot about those behind the centre!

Merry Christmas

Waqif ARt Center is in the middle of the Souq Waqif Which tries to represent the Qatar's culture and history. So christmas bazaar does not make any sense in this place.

But you are free to think they way you like. And its not very important to discuss about the name of the event. the event itself with the items is the point.

Marry Christmas to you too!

Annahita,

I am sorry to say but your explanation makes no sense or maybe the Waqif ARt Center identity screams hypocrisy! Then again, it maybe the only way to survive in this kind of society!

Merry Christmas!

Its not called christmas bazaar for many reason. First there are some items not that much related to christmas, its more like changing season, going to winter, and second because of the Waqif ARt Center identity, ( with is an art center not a shopping mall)

If it’s a Christmas bazaar, why not call it by its name?

Is it because it’s offensive in this society? This sure reflects what they try to hide... sad and pathetic!

Anyway, Merry Christmas to all!

I think we need to shorten it and come up with a peppy jingle. I don't know if the ChrismaChannuKwanzaka commercials ever made it out here (probably not) but I was singing that song for YEARS afterward!

It's not important what to call it, its a bazaar with lots of interesting things to buy, specially as a gift for friends (can be called christmas gifts)!

Happy Non-Denominational Mid December Holidays to you!

:) somehow I don't think that it will catch on, however.

I think "season" is open to interpretation. If it is convenient for you to think of this as a Christmas Season Bazaar, then roll with it. I prefer to think of it as a Non-Denominational Mid-December Bazaar myself... :o)

The bazaar is in a close area. Waqif art center has a long corridor that the tables will be in a safe place.
