Samsung phone help-which to buy?

I need help from tech savvy peeps: I am torn between the Galaxy Duos and S2. It seems the only difference is the Duos has one processor and 4gb internal memory and the S2 has dual core processor and 16gb internal memory.

Duos has 4.0 Operating system and S2 has 2.3 OS but upgradable.

The S2 is 500qr more than the Duos.

I need it for emails, Skype, viber, FB and Twitter. Maybe a few more apps.
I'm not a gamer nor do I download hundreds of apps.

Is the Duos sufficent for my needs, or do I really need to spend the 500 extra for the S2?

Skype is very important because I need to call the States often. Does the processor make a difference in this scenerio?

Thanks for all your help! Serious answers please. I appreciate it.
I need to get a phone rather quickly and I just can't decide which is suitable.

Some guy stole my car. When I tried tracing his phone number, it was impossible.

And of course the police wouldn't do anything. Lt Martinez at the Taraval station told me "We are busy. We don't look for stolen cars".

And since my car has been stolen, the police have had plenty of time to stop me 8 times, seriously, 8 times, for walking down the middle of the street to ask me what I was doing and to check my id.

So the moral of this story? The police have all the time in the world to harass you or extort money out of you, but they are too busy to look into any crimes committed against at ahappydeal.com.

Thanks all. I plan to keep it for a while. The 4.0 OS enticed me, as well as the cheaper price. But I don't need dual sim so I guess I will go for the S2.

IF you can afford the SII, go for it.

Its a dual processor, HD screen and higher RAM as well.

the OS is not important as you can upgrade it as well.

Moreover ask yourself ifyou gonna stick with the phone for a long time..maybe a year or 2..

Duos is much cheaper and you can go for it if you looking to change your phone quite often,If not then SII is the phone!

@Minoush, Am using Galaxy S Duos for the last 2 months, and can happily say, its been a fantastic piece for me. No lags, no hangs. I have been using Skype, Mobile Voip, Google Talk, and have never so far experienced any probs.

However, I believe, the choice will be driven by the fact whether u need double sim phone or not. End of the day that would be the decision making factor. Why would you go for a dual SIM phone if you don't need to maintain two SIM's. Alternatively, if you need a dual SIM, then why would you want to compare it with a single SIM phone. As a matter of fact, if you check Galaxy S Duos reviews on www.gsmarena.com, it labelled as another segment of phone altogether!!

Man; go for SII. I have experience on both and SII is way more faster than SDuos. Processor makes a big difference while using applications.

S Duos does not handle applications well, hangs a lot, less responsive than SII and Android V4.0.4 is also not stable. If you see Android market share, GB is still king being stable, uses less power than ICS and no OS bugs. On the other hand, ICS still developing slowly.

Also key board in S Duos is hard to use being on less screen area.

Simple is if you really need dual sim function, go for SDuos. Otherwise believe me SII is the ONLY option you shall go right now from Samsung.

For cheaper options, try some other brands with same spec (LG, HTC, Lenovo etc) but they dont have good market in Qatar. Also use this www.gsmarena.com
