Quality Hyper Market: Pathetic Service
I visited newly opened hyper market called Quality Hyper Market 9on Salwa road) as I was inspired by the crowd over there. I thought, it must be different but I forget that South Asians don't care about customer care at all.
As I entered inside, I thought that maybe they are distributing something free. It was too congested and crowded indeed.
Anyways, I wanted to buy meat so therefore I went to the appropriate counter. There was lots of people standing and waiting for someone who can take their orders but they were understaffed .. I thought maybe today coincidently it is crowded, I will check tomorrow.
Today I went in afternoon and found that place in better situation because it was less crowded. I went to same meat counter and started finding someone who can take my order but there was a same situation like before. One guy was busy inside butcher shop and other was busy on beef counter.. I asked him to take my order for lamb mince but he said that I have to find someone else for lamb stuff.. I requested someone who was standing idle to take my order but he pretended that he didn't listen and left. This was not happening only with me but I am surprised that people was standing there like senseless ... Again I thought positively that may be it is afternoon time so therefore they are understaffed.
I visited again in evening for the same purpose and you will not believe that there was a same situation over there..
I complained to one their supervisors who was roaming around. Surprisingly, he was smiling at my complain and didn't response anything.... I was pissed off by him and said now I will reach your Managing Director but before that I will show him the reviews of your hyper market via social portals like Qatar Living.....
Now may be you are thinking that why I visited three times the same place? Because I wanted to taste their lamb as well because they have Pakistan, Indian, Syrian, Local Lambs. At last I went Carrefour and got lamb mince in just 5 minutes.
Now I realize that why westerns or others who are more sensitive about customer service, don't visit these types of Hyper Markets because they even don't think about Customer Service..
And a Filipina would have known all the technical details ?
its better to hire more filipina than other nationality they coz they dont know how to accommodate customer i have a problem communicating with other nationality because they dont show a good manner to customer ,last week i just bought new phone but this staff Mr shamseer ali dont know how to explain whats the different with this 2 model, they just like to get the payment without explaining those product they are selling and dont have a good atittude shown to me i hope the management will take care of this
I have no complains with Philpinos.. Most of them are best at their jobs indeed...

If you want customer care,second to none,go to Dean and Deluca, in Villagio! It will take some beating! Make sure you have plenty of money,though,it's not the cheapest shop!!!

I had my first visit to Quality Hypermarket last week after hearing too much hype on its inauguration and huge building premises...as i reached the meat section I was surprised to see nearly 12 people waiting at the lamb counter and just two butchers cutting meat and not one guy to cater to the customer's requirement..tried to be patience for around 5 mins but could not really control myself more as the nearby fish counter had just 4 customers but 7 staff workers serving them..i made some fuss at the two butchers standing and stormed to the customer service office at the entrance and asked to meet the supervisor immediately...he accompanied me to the butcher section and i was surprised to see till then there were 7 more butchers and the whole area began busy..i asked the supervisor where were thee guys hiding..he dint reply but he spoke in malayalam to one of the buitcher who told they were taking rest after fasting..i was surprised as they were taking rest at 2230 hours and that too when their work area is completely air conditioned...then i went to the hot food counter to order 5 or 6 shawarmas..i was surprised wen the philipino lady there told me it would take 25 mins for even ONE shawarma..i was like ur shawarma seems ready and there is just 2 people waiting..she just answered ..NO IT WILL TAKE 25 MINUTES FOR OUR TYPE OF CHICKEN TO BE READY TO SERVE...i left with one of the most horrible service from quality hpermarket..they just dont care..guess they are making their money from retailing out their space and dont really bother abt customers...SICKKKKK

PS: Tat African chick left frm there coz u were putting bad eyes on her,she is my GF i told her to leave tat job at once and join in Lulu Express...:( Damn i told u the place....:(
The only place I saw excellent customer service in Doha is Qatar Shopping Complex, which is behind Star of India Restaurant.
Whenever I made a request the staff there always found the product for me....the 1st couple of times I thought the guy is not going to come back ...and I was about to check out and he comes running with the thing....
Also if the cart is heavy the guys try to help you with placing the things on the counter etc....
Its only their service, and the pretty Filipino girl at the bakery section, (my fav African chick with pretty eyes is no longer there :(... )..that makes me go there repeatedly :)
GIVE THEM SOMETIME FOR IMPROVEMENT.
AND IF U EXPERIENCE IT AGAIN ON YOUR SECOND VISIT...PLEASE IM SURE THERE ARE LOTS OF HYPERMARKET OUT THERE WAITING FOR NEW CUSTUMERS..

You’ve been here two years and you talking about Customer Service!!! The Gulf has to still way to go in many industries. Btw I’ve also seen rude customers in Qatar – do not bother about maintaining queues etc – maybe you are one of them and that’s why you did not get anyone serving you. Be courteous and it shall be reciprocated.
Haven’t been to Quality but I guess I prices are competitive and that would explain the crowds. Nevertheless they should ensure their staff are trained to handle all situations. An incentive scheme to the employees would surely make them more motivated to work.
i think epicurean is right it has nothing to do with where you from, it's prejudice to say south asians don't mind or don't know customer service. i even experience poor customer service in carrefour and villagio, maybe because i'm asian?don't know,but one thing's for sure, customer service really doesn't exist here. they have this "if you don't want, don't buy". hell, they don't even know what they are selling! they don't like you asking questions, it's like you should already know what you are buying. if you don't know, don't buy.

It has nothing to do with where you're from, but rather where you are now. Customer service simply does not exist in Qatar.
Yeah v true... In fact, they know that other is not treating them in correct way but what happened, as he speak in his local language ... They forget everything and became senseless..... because of this others suffer....
Yeah I forgot to mention that there was only one guy who was working fine in beef section because he is the same guy who was dealing in most expensive lamb meat, i.e Syrian Lamb and most of the Qataris buy that meat so therefore they appointed an Arab over that counter.... and he was not ready to come over desi meat section... Sick strategy!!!
u r absolutely right. Same situation is with me today in saudia hyper market. these south asians most commons indians & nepalies are very careless, first of all they dont know how to behave with customer the main thing is they dont know english & arabic but when they see arab man enter the market & than they forget all things only follow that arab man because of ( TIP )which they receive after shopping.
Why I went thrice because it is very close to my house and I was not in hurry as well...
I am just sharing the experience... If it is new then they should implement their customer service from the first day... If their supervisor will smile on complains, it's not the matter of new in market... It's a matter of bad management and planning as well...
So why big fuss here? Any new establishment needs some time
to be organised.
Mistake happens once -Twice, its OK, THRICE? then you are a big time fool going there again when you have other options like Lulu,Carrefour,Dasman,FFC etc.
