Pajero is really good car. In the desert it cant climb high dunes but it can surely move in desert without getting stuck... it has no complaints... fuel efficiency is good...its not very powerful as prado.... car is heavy and safe on road... it can be modified but modification is expensive... if modified... prado has to sit and look the performance... modified misubishi is the fastest offroader... toyota cant even dream of beating mitsubishi... competition is Volkswagen next... its 7 or 8 years winner in Dakar rally... toyota's wheels will be spinning 5 times faster in the race but it will be only at the start point wen misubishi wins the race

Let's say I hate English cars, except the old mini cooper and the MG sport.

Currently I drive whatever is provided to me by my employer.

The funny thing, I am driving a toyota now

I'll bet you that you drive a better car than me. What kind of car you drive?I drive a 93 Discovery, No heat , no air condition, but is running real good lately after I fix the Engine and couple of hundred dollars buying parts.. The next time anything goes wrong with, I will leave in the desert stranded for the junk collectors or spare parts.  Don't be saying that you are a poor man! The Red Pope of Qatar LivingBut as Muhammad Ali once said, 'It's not bragging, if you can back it up'."

how do you feel Paulo? i hope you are fine by now...lol

Jams Toyota is better than Mitsubishi at the first place. you just cannot compare these two brands.

I know couple of guys who had a problem with Pajero after 3-4 months of driving. Pajero like a “cat in the bag”, you never know what is inside until you buy it and “open” it… but then sometimes it’s too late. With Prado these things never happen. It is very reliable and stable car, because again, it is TOYOTA. Not some cheap developing company…

Even speaking of body. Prado is much more classic, without all this crappy design, which makes thing looking rather cheap… it’s like Ladies. One is dressed up simple, but you can see and feel her high class, another is full of decoration and accessories around, but you can say right away: she is cheap!

so draj decide, who you want to have: a classic Lady or cheap plebeian.

Qatarisun said:  Toyota is better than Micubishi! What is your level of experience with "MICUBISHI"? 1- Is that a new Japanese terminology? 2-What do you call an aggressive female driver in Doha? A micubishi! 3- Do you know that the Prado SUV is consider a poor mans options for not buying a LAnd Cruiser.   Do you know that the Mitsubishi company not "MICUBISHI" is being around for over 100 YEARS. Toyota builds cars only, but Mitsubishi company they build more than cars.I was pondering, If "Micubishi", Classic ladies  or a cheap Plebeian are related to a  Keisha form Japan?  PS  I forgot to tell you, The Prado is notorious for having problems with their suspension and drive train after 6 months. The Prado is not stable in 4X4 conditions, everything falls apart from the interiors to the engine and suspension. You should bought a "MICUBISHI" Brand. Good Luck with THE Prado Micubishi.LOL   The Red Pope of Qatar LivingBut as Muhammad Ali once said, 'It's not bragging, if you can back it up'."

Good morning.

What is your profession exactly. Now I think all car dealers will fight to get your services.

Problems happen to any car. I have used a Ford Explorer for more than 6 years and it was second hand and never had a problem with it.

Each company has its philosophy when it comes to body design. Being a good looking car is not a crime. At least the Pajero design gives the car a distinguished identity and they are one of the leaders in that regard. It seems Toyota is now trying to adopt Misubishi's phylosophy in designs. But it seems their designers are butt-oriented. Check the new Land Cruiser and also the old models of RAV4.

Eventualy it is a matter of "taste". Everyone looks at the car through his/her own eyes.

I go for Pajero. I compare the body of Pajero as macho.   Look at the curves, it looks strong. I 've heard Pajero eversince i was younger. The company is always at its best for rally. Prado, what is prado, it is just backed up by US, Ok Japanese made like Pajero, but Prado haven't made it's real name.

These 2 offroaders are always being compared. What about the Dakar Rally? Any Prados entered and made waves in the desert? I think Prado is for road show and Pajero is for offroad entertainment and experience. Prado is built to directly compete with Pajero in the 4x4 segment of the market. But can not displaced Pajero's position in top.

None of them, if I should buy a Japanese SUV, it must be a Nissan PATROL.

So Far i have been owner of 55 cars, none japanese :)

I never buy a car thinking about re-sale value, i only think about comfort, speed/acceleration and looks.

Although it is very reliable and cheaper to maintain withgood resale value. Yet it became very popular to the extent you feel YUCK about it.

Besides, they are not very luxurios compared to other cars. Recently we tend to spend a lot of time in the streets so we need more luxury to entertain ourselves.

LoL the pajero will give you the 'tourist' or 'Typical expat' look... You definitely don't want that if you trying to mix with the population... Prado is the obvious superior choice on whatever angle you look at it... Pajero is definitely not build to suffer the driving in Qatar... After 100K your typical pajero breaks down and your prado laughs all the way to the bank!
