Jackmohan--thanks for the advice....unfortunately I do not have an inkjet printer and have always had my photos processed by a professional lab. My clients at home expected professional prints and I'm sure my clients here will as well. In addition, I also offer canvas prints and that is not possible on an inkjet printer.
Baldrick--just dropped some prints off at Gulf Photo. I'll let you know how they turn out.
Jackmohan ... I have an A3 printer but if I need bigger I'm gonna have to go to a lab as the cost of a larger photo printer is way out of my budget (QR6000+)!
[edit] I have 3 or 4 prints I want at A1 (poster) size!!
Yes I did, on a very similar thread to this. I have an HP 1280 A3 printer which gives pretty good results when used with Kodak Glossy paper.
When I come back from my hols I'm going to try a lab on the street from Jaidah Tower (Carrier) to Sofitel (Mercure). There's a shop on the left heading down that has some A1/A0 prints hanging up that look to be pretty good quality from the other side of the street!

double post
Photo Printing....
Just put in A4 size Kodak or HP Photo paper (I guess there is 120gms thick & 180gms thick...use 180gsm paper) in your inkjet printer and print.
The latest inkjet printers give absolutely great prints matching (and even surpassing due to the convenience & control) those made in the lab.
These Photo Paper are available in stationary section of the big malls.
I am surprised that these Photo processing labs still exists in the age of Digital Camera.
The last time I processed from such a lab was 3yrs ago!
Name sounds familiar. Please PM me when you find out anything as I may be on holiday when you next reply to this thread!
